Amanda Rayner of Wyldwoodwillow will lead this workshop in the wonderful surroundings of Usk Castle Chase , Monmouthshire.
The basket we will weave will be an oval basket using different coloured willows, harvested by Amanda. We will start the day just before 10am with a cuppa and introduction and get right down to business making an oval base each, a quick pause for more refreshment before going onto the upsett and starting the 3rod wale weave then lunch at 1pm and more waling before finishing up with the border in the afternoon.
A handle is added and voila- your very own handmade basket!

A great day spent willow weaving and very happy with my first attempts. Plenty of fresh willow for the whole class and we were working in a very atmospheric old barn. Tuition was clear, a demonstration of each step given and Amanda ensured nobody was left behind. I would certainly go on another course with Wyldwoodwillow.
