On this workshop you will learn to make paper and then use that paper to make an A6 coptic bound notebook.
We will start with making recycled paper into which you may add inclusions, such as threads, seeds or petals. After you have sufficient paper to make your notebook we will move on to coptic binding to bring it together.
You will leave with your note book, knowledge of recycled papermaking and coptic bookbinding and an instruction pamphlet.
The day runs from 9:30 to 5pm with lunch and refreshments provided.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

I did this workshop on 7 March. I happened to know a bit about papermaking already but you don't need to know anything. V taught me new skills - skills I had been dreaming of for a while. I loved making the sheets. The thing I valued the most was that I was able to achieve what I envisaged when asked what colours and design I was looking for. Not all teachers can help you to do that. I had wondered how we would make sheets and make them into a notebook in a single day but this became clear and I did, indeed, go home with a notebook I had made entirely from 'rubbish' (my word not V's) that had been posted through V's front door. I love the whole process of papermaking, the pulp, the water, the eco-friendliness of it all and I will be able to use my new skills at home. It was a pleasure to meet new people; it was a tiny workshop with only one other participant. There was supposed to be a third but they didn't attend so really missed out. It was excellent value with food included on the price. And the food! Delicious. Well done Croughton Tea Rooms.
