Paper Making Workshop - Paper Craft - Blended Monkey Studios

Description

Join Zakiya, our guest tutor from Fanoggins, for a PAPER MAKING workshop where you'll learn the hands-on art of turning scrap paper into new, usable sheets. After a brief introduction to the craft and tools, you will: - collect leaves, petals, and other additions from the Blended Monkey Studio's garden - get the pulp ready for forming paper - use a mould and deckle to create paper - add natural dyes and your collected leaves, petals, and seeds to elevate each sheet couch the sheets and leave them to dry The whole procedure will be explained from start to finish by Zakiya, our guest tutor book binder and junk journal artist. The workshop will take place in our dedicated, covered outdoor studio space. At the end of the session, you will have created 10 sheets of unique paper for you to use in crafts, letter writing, binding, or whatever else your heart desires! Tickets cost just £95.00 and include - materials and use of all the equipment on the day - refreshments and also lunch - posting your papers to you once dry FAQs Will I take my paper home on the day? Depending on the weather, your sheets of paper may not be dry enough for you to remove from the couching material on the day. Therefore, we'll post your papers safely to your door as soon as they're pressed and dry! Will my paper be perfectly white? While you can make brilliantly white paper, the paper pulp we use comes from junk mail, printed paper, and scraps (everything otherwise destined for the bin!), so it's unlikely to be perfectly white. This would make a fabulous CRAFTY GIFT for someone - so drop us a line and we can post out to you/the recipient a complimentary personalised gift certificate for this experience🎁

What's included in the price?

We supply everything you need to make your papers from scratch, but feel free to bring along collect leaves, petals, and other additions you might like to add. Blended Monkey is a husband and wife team. Our studios are based in a small village on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border. Our setting provides ample inspiration for our work, and is perfect for our woodturning & pottery courses. Louise (ceramicist) - I studied at the Falmouth School of Art & Design and I am interested in various art forms, design and applied arts. Simon (woodturner) - I love working with wood & exploring its versatility. I'm a member of the AWGB and APTGW.
