Learn to make a hand stitched mini leather satchel using traditional techniques and British leather, dyed to the colours of your choice. You will learn how to stitch leather using the two needle saddle stitch as well as fit buckles and rivets too. More about Leather Satchel Workshop: We will work with pre-cut pattern pieces of British leather and you will dye the pieces to whatever rainbow of colours you would like and learn the order of work in making a more complex piece of leatherwork before hand stitching the bag together. This is a challenging day with a lot of stitching but very rewarding! The bag measures approximately W:19cm D:7cm H:16cm. Some experience of leatherwork is desirable but not essential if you enjoy practical skills and crafts already. There is a lot of stitching to do and this can be hard on the hands so please have this in mind if you suffer with arthritic conditions. Ruth wants everyone to enjoy the day and not feel pressured so if you do struggle there is the option to finish stitching the bag at home in your own time.
