Beginners Rigid Heddle Weaving - Day Workshop

X

Description

Learn to weave on a rigid heddle loom - beginners. A full day (5 hours) learning hand weaving, in a peaceful weaving workshop on a small holding in the beautiful Welsh hills. Before weaving on a loom, it first has to be set up and threaded with the warp threads (these are the vertical threads on the loom that you will be weaving across with the horizontal weft threads). The loom will already have the warp threads on it, ready for you to thread the heddles, and then move straight into the fun of weaving your piece. You can choose to make a scarf, a table runner, or a wall hanging. (If you would like to learn how to make a warp for the loom, please see the longer weekend weaving options (Weave A Shawl Weekend). If you would like to upgrade to fancier yarns, or hand spun yarns please message me via the 'message the tutor' button to enquire when booking and I can arrange a selection of yarns for you, or hand dye, or spin yarns and art yarns for you. Lunch break is between 12.30pm - 1.30pm Please bring along a packed lunch. The workshop may have others attending, or might be just yourself. If you would prefer a one to one session please message me. If you are travelling to get here, there is a farm cottage and a cabin on site that may be available for you to book. We have looms and equipment available in the studio shop if you would love to take a loom home with you.
