Fashion First Aid

Garment Construction Clinic

Do you have a stash of fabric and a pattern sitting around at home that you've been wanting to make for ages but don't have the confidence to start cutting out? Are sleeves always a struggle to insert correctly? Maybe you're at a loss as to how a collar looks so neat on someone else, yet your construction is always wonky.

Well this clinic is for you.

On this one day troubleshooting workshop you can bring any project you may have started, or are yet to start, and we can give you all the help and advice needed to complete your garment. Maybe you're halfway through making a bodice or costume and just not quite sure of the next step. Do you have an old dress or shirt that you don't wear any more but you still love the fabric? This fashion first aid class will show you how it could be recycled into maybe a hat or another item of clothing Or it could be that you just have an idea for a unique sleeve or maybe a bespoke collar and we can help you cut a pattern for it.

This one day clinic is £45, 10am - 3pm on Thursday December 2nd and both Peter and Paula will be on hand to help you out.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What a wonderful, informative day I have just spent, the knowledge shared with me exceeded my expectations. Peter and Paula are so knowledgeable and friendly that I felt completely at ease, I can’t wait to sign up for another course.
Many thanks to you both

I absolutely loved this course. I started this course at the same time as the Pattern Cutting Sessions (Skirt / Bodice / Sleeve ) and it was instrumental in providing me with the confidence (and courage) to take this new found hobby further. Paula was welcoming and friendly, always with a coffee and a smile, waiting for you to arrive at her wonderful workshop/studio and Val was informative, helpful and nothing was too much trouble and if I got stuck, or couldn't work something out she was patient and understanding. I can recommend to anyone thinking about taking up sewing as a hobby (or wanting to make clothes) to do this course and it really is a good grounding in the basics of just about every sewing technique you will ever need.

I really enjoyed this course, and learnt loads of techniques to make garments in a friendly supportive environment. I recommend anyone wanting to learn the basics of garment making that they attend this course to give them the know how and confidence to start making their own garments.
Thanks for a great course.
