Description

This pretty scarf and blanket pattern (not shown) was designed by Claire Newberry especially for the Brother electronic knitting machine with a garter carriage & DesignaKnit software. Please note this is a PDF only download which cannot be exchanged or refunded once downloaded to you. The pattern comes with all the instruction needed to make your own scarf or blanket. The pattern can be traced on to mylar sheet & knitted using a garter carriage or can be downloaded straight to the electronic knitting machine via DesignaKnit. The design includes a file for a 200 stitch width blanket which would be ideal as a baby's blanket or chair throw. The yarn suitable for this design can be anything that your machine can knit & can be knitted any number of repeats in a length to suit. For best results use a smooth rounded yarn to show off the stitch textures well. For this pattern you will need: Brother electronic knitting machine with appropriate garter carriage DesignaKnit 8 or 9 or blank mylar sheet with pen to trace the design. Any yarn suitable for your machine

How this was made

The scarf in the images was knitted in 100% wool on a brother electronic knitting machine with garter carriage. The design was designed on DesignKnit 8, but a mylar 60 stitch repeat which can also be used for this pattern if you do not have a download cable. The pattern is modified for this. The design is intended for your own personal use & not for commercial purposes. Copyright is strictly Claire Newberry Knitwear Design. No part or whole of this design may be copied. "I contacted Claire because I was struggling to understand how to increase and decrease neatly when knitting rib on my Brother machine and ribber. The manuals, books I owned and YouTube videos just didn’t cover this topic when doing something like a 3x3 rib and I wanted to do more with the ribber than just knitting welts. I wanted to knit a whole garment in rib. Claire was brilliant. We spent an hour (and a bit longer) working on a neat professional way of doing fashioned decreases that I could apply to 3x3, 4x4 or other combinations. I came away feeling confident. I understood what I was doing and spent the afternoon practicing. So, if you’re struggling with something, don’t get frustrated, invest in yourself and get some training. I highly recommend Claire, she’s knowledgeable, experienced and very patient. Our time overran but Claire kindly continued because she wanted to ensure I understood and was happy that she had answered my questions. Great value for money and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. I know where to go in the future as I learn more about machine knitting and try new things."
