About the Course
Encaustic Art for beginners is focused on learning the basics of using the iron to melt waxes, create abstracts, patterns, landscapes, fantasy images, use with stamps and interweave with your own existing creative interests and skills. Introduction of the low-heat Stylus tool for graphical details. It's a lot of fun and creativity can be quite unexpected. You don't need to be able to paint or draw but it helps if you are open to the living moment - that is where creativity happens - in the present, within the process.
Dates and locations are not set. We simply need between 8 and 12 people to desire a course in an area and suggest a suitable location. If you are interested in organising the location and the participants you can have a free place on the course. Please contact Michael if this is the case.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
At the location (where ever that turns out to be) we will provide all tools and materials and hope that tea/coffee can be made available free for all participants through-out the day. You will go home with a load of artwork which is in effect your memory of the things taught and learnt. The starting size is on A6 cards because the iron fits across these in one sweep and that makes learning easier. Lots of techniques in one day (that's the craft aspect) - everyone will succeed in their own way (art is about individuality). Further courses to advance your skills could be arranged if demand exists.
Course dates are flexible; please get in touch for the next available date.
