About the Course
This is a full day workshop creating a couple of items using the slip cast process.
Slip casting is a way of producing identical pieces or for mass production. In this workshop you will learn about pouring liquid slip into moulds and releasing the pot later and preparing it for the kiln.
You will also explore painting with coloured slips onto a mould before casting your item to decorate your pot without the need for coloured glazes.
There will be various moulds to choose from including mugs, cups and saucers, animals and vases.
TIME: 10am - 4.30pm

Alison is a fantastic tutor, patient and very knowledgeable. The course was amazing, all the pupils were friendly and the day passed too quickly. Had a great time and will definitely be booking on another course.

Alison is an excellent teacher. The course was informative and a lot of fun. There was a huge selection of moulds to choose from. I chose to make some hedgehogs that were ever so cute. I look forward to seeing the finished products. Would recommend this workshop.

Marvellous, marvellous, marvellous. Knew nothing about slip-casting at the start and left having made two brilliant pots, one of which I painted with coloured slips.
Atmosphere - as alway, so relaxing and therapeutic.
Teacher - well, Alison is second to none. Nobody is a a good as she is at instructing you in all the intricacies and answering all your questions (very patiently).
Recommendation - go, learn, enjoy, love and of course, return.

Enjoyed the course so much I didn't want to leave! Alison is very warm and welcoming, and was great at explaining all the essentials for me to make decorations that I am really proud of. I haven't been on a course like this before, and the help and guidance given was immeasurable, but was given without the feel of someone breathing down my neck. There was a huge range of cutters, stamps and fabrics to work with, and lots of inspirational samples decorating the room. The room is spacious yet cosy and the cakes and drinks went down a treat! A perfect course for all ages and all abilities. I will be back!!
