In this beginners course you will learn the art of pattern making.. You will practice how to use specialist equipment, learn pattern terminology and be shown how to draw, with accuracy and confidence, the correct information that should be on finished patterns.

You will learn basic pattern cutting techniques to help you design and make your own clothes. You will draft a foundation skirt block as a basis for making a pattern for your design. From this basic block, you will create a calico toile and be shown how this can be adapted to your own measurements. You will have a pattern block and your own calico skirt pattern to take home with you.
