Can you sew in a straight(ish) line with your sewing machine? - or would you like to learn?
Can you (just about) remember how to thread it - or would you like to learn?
If the answer is yes, then you'll be able to make one of the many projects we have on offer for you.
A fun, fabulous festival dress, palazzo pants, an apron dress, cushion covers, how to make a sample curtain, how to copy a favourite item of clothing, etc, etc -on this course we can accommodate what you need to know !
We will be using fabric that has been washed and rescued from a previous life.
Our lovely bright studio space is a great spot for you to get bold and brave with your sewing.
We're based less than 10 minutes walk from historic Wallingford's town centre, and have plentiful parking.
What you can do by the end of the course will be dependent on what we're showing, but could include:

-Draft a basic pattern
-Machine sew using straight stitch and zig-zag stitch on your machine
-Construct a fabric channel
-Use a measuring stick to ensure your hem is straight

I recently joined Becky for a one to one sewing day at her studio in Wallingford. I took a pair of cropped trousers which I wanted to recreate, but make them longer. She helped me to take an accurate pattern from the existing pair, extending it as required, and step by step we made a new pair! I choose a fab bold leaf print duvet cover from her selection of pre washed fabric which made for a striking pair of wide legged trousers. She even helped me to adapt the waistband to a feature ‘paper bag’ style. The day was relaxed and informal, with an endless supply of tea and snacks! I had the opportunity to ask lots of questions and Becky had lots of helpful tips and advice. She was super friendly, flexible and accommodating which suited my needs for the day. Recycling and reuse is important to me and this was definitely at the forefront of Becky’s mind. I had some great comments on my trousers and no one could believe they used to be a duvet cover! I also have the pattern to make more trousers in the future. Thanks for a lovely day Becky!
Response from BeccaLou Creates:Emma, it was a pleasure to spend the day with you.
