In our Carpentry & Woodworking Course you will learn: - Tools basics: Which tools you need & how to use them - Materials basics: Which wood for which project - Fixings basics: Nails and Screw types and uses, when to use raw plugs. - Essential skills: Sawing, hammering, drilling & sanding - Skirting board/dado rail: how to fit it successfully and go round corners, cutting the correct angles. - Beginners chiselling for cutting in hinges & woodworking joints. - Beginners planing for furniture making and door hanging. This course aims to equip participants with practical woodworking skills that they can apply in their own homes to tackle common carpentry tasks effectively and confidently. It’s hands-on, allowing you to practise the skills under the guidance of an experienced instructor. We will send you a questionnaire on booking and where possible, will try and tailor the course to your needs, but how much we can cover in the two days is always dependant on how quickly the group pick skills up. Courses run from 9am – 4.00pm with a break for lunch and two coffee breaks. This may not seem like a long time, but trust us, you’ll be shattered! Courses will run in groups of 3-6 people. In the event that not enough people book on to a particular date, we may have to rearrange courses. We will let you know as soon as possible if this is the case. Many of these carpentry “small works” are excellent earners for those looking for a supplementary or main income. There is never a shortage of carpentry work, and AI can't do it!
