Teresa St Claire-Barrass reviewed: Two day stone carving course at Middleton Hall

"Absolutely loved this course. Miranda explained the stone carving brilliantly & was always on hand to either demonstrate, assist and explain the process. It was a lovely weekend in a lovely setting, well organised with everything you needed to hand. We came away very proud of our Portland stone carvings."

Linda reviewed: Hardwood table furniture making course with Finbarr Lucas

"I recently had the delight of attending Finbarr’s 3-day table making course. His small class size means he’s always on hand to guide students. He is immensely knowledgeable and has a unique style of teaching. In the same way that a yoga teacher or physiotherapist uses their hands to correct your stance, Finbarr positions you so that you apply the correct pressure where wood and blade meet. Finally, I can make straight cuts!!! Not only did I learn loads, but I had a wonderful, relaxed weekend with friendly people. Oh, and delicious cake!!"

Ieuan Rosser reviewed: Welding For Beginners

"The course exceeded expectations. A very relaxed environment and style of course, a small group so lots of one to one advice and guidance. The content of the course was flexible enough to fit to the various needs of the attendees. Very hands on early in the day following the safety introduction, but the theory and principles were covered naturally as the day went on. Liam was a very knowledgeable instructor and was always on hand to answer questions with clear and easy to understand explanations. Would highly recommend to others looking to gain an understanding of core welding principles whilst having a predominately hands on day in a comfortable and welcoming environment."

Sue reviewed: 3D Elegant Lady A4 Canvas

"My daughter and I attended the ‘elegant lady canvas’ workshop and thoroughly enjoyed it. Jan was very welcoming and kept us well supplied with drinks and snacks. Her teaching was very clear and she guided us through the various techniques but also gave us lots of opportunities to apply our own creativity and ideas. I would thoroughly recommend this workshop."

David Woodhouse reviewed: Bring Your Own Upholstery Project - Saturday Workshop

"I had the most fabulous day learning the basics of upholstery with the wonderful Sarah who welcomed me into part of her home. This day was part of my birthday present bought for me by my wife and I can honestly say that the whole day was just perfect. Sarah is a brilliant teacher who demonstrated each part of the process in a comprehensive way to ensure that I had a complete understanding of what was required, she then let me try and replicate the process with gentle hints to assist me in getting the required result. At no point was I made to feel inadequate and I was delighted with my finished result and will definitely return for some more instruction but this time with my wife who is also keen to learn."

Ranbir K. Bains reviewed: Natural dyeing - a taster day

"Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Judy is very engaging as a tutor. Her knowledge and years of experience is evident in the ease with which she is able to impart this in her teaching. I am new to the craft of dyeing and having thought I would be able to teach myself I realised how invaluable it is to learn from a practitioner a plus is Judy still loves her craft and teaching its techniques to new students."

Judy P. dye - print - weave responded:

"Thankyou so much Ranbir, I’m glad you enjoyed the day. And I look forward to seeing you in July for another workshop. Get back to me with any questions when you are set up at home to do your own plant dyeing. "

Gill reviewed: Heelan Coo Sculpture Carving

"What a fabulous day! Tom was knowledgeable and helpful in a lovely woodland setting. The weather was clement and the fire was great to sit around for breaks and to natter. The carving was great but definitely hard work using the axe. Tom was so encouraging and we had a great day. The toilets are quite far from the workshop so don't leave it till the last minute and the signage could do with a wee bit if a refresh, especially for those of us with dodgy eyesight, but all round a great experience we would highly recommend."

Ruth reviewed: Glassblowing Full Day Masterclass

"Exciting day in a glass blowing studio with fire and molten glass. I was a complete beginner and I had never seen live glass blowing before. Bethany and Kate demonstrated the processes step by step then guided and supported us in making our own items. I learned such a lot about the intricacies of making of glass as well as having a go at making a paperweight, a bowl and a vase. Excellent day. Would recommend it. "

Lynn & Jeff reviewed: Raku - learn the exciting art of rapid Japanese glaze firing

"When I booked it for a gift experience we really didn't know what to expect. When we arrived we were welcomed by a lovely group 7 of us in total. Step by step we were guided by Richard using different glazes etc to produce so many effects. I would definitely recommend the day and we left with 4 pots each, all different in styles. Richard and the group made it a very special day. We stayed in the Cross Keys pub in the village (5 mins from course venue) and got complimentary breakfast £10. A lovely gem of a village too."
