I trained as a cabinetmaker 50 years ago.
As a mature student, i obtained a first class honours degree in antique furniture conservation and restoration. I set up my business, Peter White Furniture, where for the last 20 years I have been restoring and upholstering antique furniture for clients. Now in my upholstery studio, and under the name of 'The upholstery tutor' I offer upholstery courses where students will learn to upholster their own chair using traditional techniques and materials. Based in a rural setting overlooking the Warwickshire countryside.
"I’ve just finished upholstering my chair with Peter White Furniture at Stockton Hill Farm. I’m thrilled with it. It’s been stripped completely down and with his expertise and advise it has been rebuilt.
Peter is an excellent teacher, extremely patient and very knowledgable of his craft.
I’ve leaned such a lot.
Thank you Peter, I would recommend you to anyone. "
Peter White Furniture responded:
"Your chair looks fantastic Sue. The choice of fabric with the studding really complimented the frame. Your upholstery skills have come on a treat. Well done on completing a different chair."
"An excellent course. Would recommend it to anyone. Experienced and patient tutor. Expectations exceeded and looking forward to the next class."
Peter White Furniture responded:
"You progressed well in your first session. Keep up the good work."
