"This is a super one day course which I would recommend to anyone who likes crafts. I had never done any weaving before, but brought home a pretty, woven, landscape picture which is good enough to frame. Alana is a fabulous teacher, kind and encouraging, and she taught us various weaving techniques, and provided a great assortment of beautiful and colourful yarns. The day was a lot of fun, spent with a lovely group of people, most total beginners like me, all very relaxed, with a lot of laughter, and endless cups of tea as well as cake. I purchased a loom from Alana and can't wait to give it a go at home. "

"I really enjoyed the tapestry weaving day course and the day absolutely flew by, before we knew it we were tying the final knots on our little camio samplers. Alana is an excellent teacher and host (the course was at her house) and she supplied all the materials we needed and gave us comprehensive notes including suppliers at the end. I left with a sense of achievement and can’t wait to try my hand again at tapestry weaving."

"This two day course was exciting and innovative whilst covering basic techniques for a beginner. Alana is a highly skilful and inspiring tutor who was sensitive to our individual learning styles and interests. "My one day tapestry weaving course in September was a wonderful experience. It took place in a workshop with windows all around in an orchard in the heart of the Devon countryside and there was a wonderful peace. The varied weavings on the walls and all the glorious colours of the yarns made me itch to get creating straight away. Alana guided me in my choice of colours and textures of yarns available, showed me how to weave and all the different possibilities. She checked I'd understood and then left me to work and experiment on my own but was there if I needed any help. She told me that in weaving there's no right and wrong, which I found very liberating. I was quickly completely absorbed in the work and my imagination and creativity were in full flow. At the end of the day I had a wall hanging that I was absolutely delighted with. To my great surprise, as it was my first attempt, I was proud enough of it to give it to friends as a wedding present the next day. I can't wait to go back and do another course!"
