Such a great day if you are looking to try your hand at basic woodworking skills. Sue and her team are extremely patient and helpful.
Response from Tuffett:Thanks very much Emma. You did a great job on your big planter. I hope you’ll send a photo of it planted up.
Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Good clear instruction and help always on hand when required with patience and understanding. Would recommend this course for anyone wanting to try their hand at woodwork.
Response from Tuffett:So glad you enjoyed the day. Your planter looks splendid and I hope you will send me a photo when it’s planted up. Hope to see you again one day when you want to do another project. A shoe bench perhaps??
Great day, really pleased with my footstool made on the course. Each stage well explained and lots of personal supervision.
Lovely local tea room if you don’t want to self cater.
Excellent day, thanks Sue
Response from Tuffett:Thank you Liz. Your footstool was lovely and such a good choice of fabric. Lovely to meet you.
Good preparatory instructions and notes. Friendly instruction.
Entrance to location needs to be identified by sign on road.
Response from Tuffett:Thank you for your review Paul. You did a great job with your indoor planter and picked up the new skills very well.
This one day course was excellent for a beginner. We were given basic information around techniques such as how to use a saw, sandpaper and power drill and screwdriver. There was a project to complete using these skills which took most of the day.
Advice and help were on hand not only from the organiser, Sue, but also from 2 previous attendees who were now very proficient themselves.
All materials were supplied and it was value for money in a lovely setting deep in the countryside.
I would recommend it for anyone at any age. Sue is an excellent and patient teacher and has inspired me to try small projects of my own.
Response from Tuffett:Thank you Naomi. Glad you enjoyed the day and well done for making a lovely planter, with a mitred top!! Advanced stuff!!
Had a really enjoyable day and felt so proud to take home a professional looking footstool. Every step of the process was done under Sue's watchful eye and her supportive tips inspire confidence. Looking forward to my next upholstery project.
Response from Tuffett:Thank you Mandy. You made a lovely job of your footstool and you should be very proud. Best wishes, Sue
An excellent day out, well hosted by Sue, who is an excellent tutor. I learned so much and am now looking forward to putting my new skills to use. Highly recommended.
Response from Tuffett:Thanks very much Bob. It's rare to have a chap on the workshops so it was good to have you here. So pleased you enjoyed it and I expect to see you making more now you know the techniques.
I spent a lovely and very productive day making a footstool at Tuffett. The tuition was excellent and Sue divided her time between the four of us equally. Initially we were introduced to the tools and basic techniques and then set to on our own footstools. Sue was very patient and supportive and we were all proud of what we had produced. The setting is fabulous and we were fortunate to be able to sit outside for our breaks enjoying the views, good conversation and entertainment provided by the dogs and ducks. I would thoroughly recommend this course.
Response from Tuffett:Thanks Kate. It was lovely to have you here and you made a great job of your footstool.
Having never tried upholstery before, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Sue is a fabulous teacher with a vast amount of experience. I made a footstool which has been complimented on numerous times. I am now looking at attending another course and bringing along a couple of friends. Every step is explained and demonstrated. A very worthwhile course.
Response from Tuffett:Thank you so much for your lovely review Lesley. It was a pleasure to have you on the workshop and I look forward to you coming again on 30th March with your two friends. We shall have another fun day!
