Jenny reviewed: Spoon carving and Whittling Day

"I had a very enjoyable day with Colin and Sarah at the Spoon Carving and whittling course on 29th September ,  I was a complete beginner and they explained how to use the tools, different cuts and when to use them.  They explaind the techniques clearly and made sure I used the tools safely . We also covered different types of tools and how to sharpen them and how to finish the spoons with sanding and oiling.  They were happy to answer any questions and give advice on design, tools and techniques.  I feel much more confident to try whittling on my own and am happy with the spoon I produced. The workshop was in a beautiful location and it was an interesting and relaxing experience with some lovely people.  I would recommend this course to anyone."

The Wiggly Path Company responded:

Neil Walton reviewed: Spoon carving and Whittling Day

"A super day of spoon carving with Colin and Sarah. A birthday gift from my son, we did the day at Harehope together. Excellent instruction from the start soon had us using the tools with a degree of confidence and really enjoying the process, the company and the surroundings. Colin and Sarah obviously have many years experience in teaching, guiding and gently steering you through the necessary processes in a very informative, safe and enjoyable way. They also have a lovely way of making the day quite meditative, relaxing and enriching. A lovely way to spend a day with my son and hopefully the start to another mindful and rewarding hobby in retirement."

The Wiggly Path Company responded:

"Thank you Neil We both had a splendid day with you and James and are glad you both had a nice time, it was lovely to work with you, as you both had an appreciation for what we are trying to accomplish at Harehope and an understanding of working with nature. You should both be very proud of the artefacts you created in the first few hours of your journey. We sincerely hope you take up this rewarding and additive hobby. Very best wishes Colin and Sarah "
