Maker's bio

I love working with clay and started learning a few years ago with a small area at home. I have worked in Higher Education and the social sector for thirty years, my background is in training Drug and Alcohol Counsellors and educators alongside managing projects supporting people, currently people affected by dementia. I have always loved pottery and found it the perfect antidote to challenging work. I moved into the Roslyn works in 2016. There has been a pottery on this site since 1841 and there are records of two bottle kilns here from 1856. The building was renovated around the kilns and consists of small units for creatives and makers. It is connected to the beautiful Gladstone Pottery Museum currently the home of The Great Pottery Throwdown. The museum opens on April 1st and there will be ample time to visit if you want to before or after your workshop – entry charges apply.

"Really enjoyed this relaxing tealight workshop! Jane is a fab friendly tutor, gave great advice & really pleased with my finished tealight that I will use. Would recommend."
