Hello my name is Jane Warren and I retrained (after many years in marketing) as a City & Guilds soft furnisher in 2007. One of the modules was lampshade making and I was hooked! I love using different fabrics from silks to block printed cottons, and papers such as marbled and yuzen papers to make a range of lampshades. Come and learn the art! it is for beginners so you need no previous experience, and you will leave with all the skills to make many more for yourself or for a small business.

"My sister and I spent a lovely morning with Jane making drum lampshades in her garden studio. Jane is an excellent teacher, explaining the technique in an easy to follow and logical way. The conversation flowed whilst we worked, fuelled by delicious home-made cake and cups of tea. We came away with very professional looking lampshades and lots of hints and tips for making more at home. Highly recommended!"

"I enjoyed a great few hours last week attending this course in Jane's lovely studio space. Not only did Jane teach all the areas she had previously outlined but she went above and beyond in giving many tips and suggestions in how to improve our lampshade making skills. Jane is a very patient and calm teacher and is clearly very experienced. She has given me the confidence to take my lampshade making to the next level.
