"I had a fantastic day on this course. Rick is highly knowledgeable as well as very friendly and personable - and of course a very accomplished craftsman. He gave excellent, clear instruction throughout the day and broke each process down into manageable stages. I never felt like I was standing around listening to instruction for too long before I was able to have a go myself. He supplied a delicious cold lunch and I was able to make friends with his lovely dog Loui during the break which was definitely a bonus! I walked away with a couple of pieces that I'll be proud to use and display and a real enthusiasm for doing more wood turning! Thank you so much Rick."

"An outstanding experience from start to finish! A great value for money and worth every penny. Rick's teaching was clear, expert, and incredibly supportive, especially for my father, who has diminished eyesight. He was guided with care and encouragement throughout. The facilities were excellent, easy to find, and beautifully equipped. We were looked after brilliantly all day, especially with it being a boiling hot day, we had lots of snacks and drinks on hand throughout the day as well as a delicious lunch provided. We did a spindle session in the morning where we created Beech plant dibbers and in the afternoon we got to turn a wooden bowl of our choice of wood blank. We left the day with two finished projects each and a newfound appreciation of the skills required to turn a lump of wood into something beautiful. Rick makes it look so easy! A thoroughly enjoyable and memorable day - thanks to Rick, his wife Alison and their adorable dog Louis."

"Had a great day woodturning with Rick. Just realised it is a lot more difficult than I ever appreciated and very actually intricate. Rick was a great teacher. Had a full days tuition with a great lunch provided by his wife. Allowed me to get on with it but helped out when needed. Highly recommended and it definitely has got me interested in picking it up as a hobby. Thanks Rick."
