"My original course was cancelled due to snow and ice, but Karen rescheduled after consulting me about dates. I joined her friendly group of students doing their five week jewellery course, with Karen giving me loads of individual attention to help me create my silver ring. A fantastic bonus was that I'd taken along some silver rings that I could no longer wear, to ask her advice about them, and she showed me how to enlarge them. So I came away with four wearable rings, not just one! "

"Had a lovely afternoon at Redcurrant Glass making a fused glass Christmas Wreath. Karen was lovely, very kind and patient, she helped us throughout the process ensuring we would have a beautiful decoration to take home once it had been fired in the kiln. I also purchased an at home Christmas tree decoration kit that can be posted to Karen for firing in the kiln, and she will post back to me once complete. A great idea for a gift as she does an large assortment of at home kits, great for those who want to try Fused Glass work but cant necessarily get to an in person workshop. I would definitely recommend Karens workshops, and would go again. Thanks Karen x"

"We attended the glass infusion day course. Karen was welcoming and made you feel at ease straight away . She was very informative explaining about the glass used, different techniques, styles etc. During the day we were able to complete 3/4 different styles of glass items such as coasters, tea light holders. After we had completed a glass coaster, the choice was ours what we wanted to make, Karen was always at hand guiding and offering help and suggesting ideas. A sandwich and cake was provided for lunch and a choice of hot or cold drinks were offered during the day. The day was thoroughly enjoyable, and Karen was a great tutor. Looking forward to seeing our creations once they have been in the kiln. Thanks to Karen for a great day, would definitely recommend this course"

"A friend and I attended a fused glass Christmas decorations taster course. Prior to the day, Karen sent useful information and answered questions promptly by email. On the day, she was welcoming and gave us plenty of clear instructions. The youngest attendee was 8years old and the oldest in their 60´s, but Karen was never condescending; she was keen that we should all produce pieces we were pleased with. She had lots of resources available and encouraged us with suggestions and was always positive. We made far more decorations than I expected and it was interesting to have the techniques and materials explained as we progressed. She is obviously very busy but will still find time, after firing them, to tie coordinating ribbons on thé decorations before they are ready for posting/collection - that really is going the extra mile! We finished the workshop with mince pies. It was a really good course and my friend and I are now considering one of the other courses on offer. "

"Had a wonderful time at this workshop with Karen. As a beginner I found she explained everything in simple terms and we were very soon ‘hands on’ making our own items. I was very impressed with the materials and equipment available for our use, so much different glass to choose from, all colours of frits and stringers and paints, and I learned how to use the grinder. I was delighted with the pieces I made - we made two smaller pieces in the morning and then we were free to make a larger piece in the afternoon of our choice - I can’t wait to see them finished after firing. I would happily do this workshop every weekend if I could, and have no hesitation in recommending Karen - excellent teacher and very friendly and hospitable. "

"The one-day Fused Glass Workshop run by Karen Redmayne proved to be a hugely enjoyable introduction to this craft. I had never done any glass fusing before and so I was an absolute beginner. Karen was highly organized and informative about the arrangements for the day. In no time at all after Karen's expert demonstration and explanations, I was making my first pieces. In this first foray, under Karen's guidance, and with full access to the equipment and materials on offer, I made two coasters and a shallow bowl! A brilliant day and productive day. I can't wait to see my creations once they are fired! Karen makes her workshops relaxed and fun. She has a real talent for imparting her skills and knowledge to the uninitiated. "My husband and I recently did this workshop and loved it. Karen was very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome throughout. We've previously done glass blowing so were excited to work with glass again and learn how it was different with lampwork - Karen was very patient answering our questions and we quickly begin making beads. We made several beads each over the five hours, using different glasses and learning techniques to add spots, stripes, etc. Karen was a great teacher, guiding us while encouraging us to experiment with different designs/colours and glass. Karen also kindly provided us with lunch, taking our preferences into consideration. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be going to another of Karen's classes in the future."
