"I absolutely loved this course - Eleanor is a fantastic teacher, and the scope of what we covered was just right. The workshop is a treasure trove of lots of different types of glass art, and it was lovely to be in a really creative working environment. No technique or tool seemed to be unavailable to us and the amount of glass we could use, and the specific styles and types of project we could undertake were limited by our imaginations only. I would thoroughly recommend Rainbow Glass Studios for the glass fusing course, and if I only lived nearer I would definitely make it a regular haunt of mine!"

"I attended the beginners glass fusing course a few weeks ago and enjoyed the most wonderful day. It was educational, interesting, fun and thoroughly addictive. Richard structures the day to give the right balance of teaching and doing, in fact you are giving a huge amount of license and materials to create your own projects. Richard guides you along the way and gently nudges you if your ideas are a little too ambitious..... as mine were! Although not the main point, it is worth saying that in my opinion the course is also great value for money, in addition to all the knowledge I acquired, I ended up with 4 thoroughly satisfying pieces of fused glass. All in all a 5 star day."

"I attend a glass fusing one day course just before last Christmas and managed to make 6 candle bridges as presents. Richard gives good clear instructions in a relaxed atmosphere, lots of help and guidance even looking up ideas on the internet for inspiration. I would recommend this course to anyone - even if , like me, you have no artistic ability, you can produce something beautiful that you can be proud of. Would be a great idea as a gift for that hard-to-buy-for person."

"This was a brilliant way to spend a weekend! I did the painting on glass course and am now really keen to try the others (fusing, leading etc). Really inspirational: makes one want to run off and starting fitting out kilns in the kitchen. The workshop was thorough, well-structured and well-paced. Richard is patient and knowledgable and very liberal with his resources. The small number of people makes it cosy and sociable. I came away with two roundels and one panel, all of which I love! Keep up the good work, Richard!"

"I went to my first course with Richard on a whim, almost by chance, almost a year ago. And it has changed my life. I've instantly become addicted to glass fusing. One day in his workshop was enough to do that. He is the perfect teacher. I was totally absorbed from the moment I entered the inspirational treasure cove that is his workshop. There are pieces of glass art to inspire you on every wall. The course is expertly divided into timed stages so that no moment is wasted. He doesn't kick everyone out for an hour at lunchtime like other course providers do, so that they can relax. You may take a break or you may continue, not interrupting your inspiration flow, if you so wish. And he's there to help. Nobody gets left behind at any stage and everybody finishes what they start, in perfect balance. Richard makes sure of it. It was only at the end of the day that I realised that I'd been standing for so many hours and that I was physically tired. My mind and soul were in a different dimension, though. I'd fallen in love with glass fusing. Because I don't live in the UK, I had to go elsewhere for glass courses and workshops after that, too, but never found anyone like Richard. I went back to Richard's for glass jewellery and I've already booked his new one week advanced fusing course. I cannot wait! P.S.: Richard's playlist is great, indeed! :)"

"Having learnt to make windows, initially, from a wonderful glass artist (Paddy Robinson) in Australia, I looked for a long time to find a suitable replacement after moving to UK. When I eventually found Richard at Rainbow Glass Studios, he was very patient in helping me finish a leaded, sand-blasted and painted window and so I returned to learn fusing, slumping and more painting and then joined the evening workshops. Richard attracts a very comfortable group of 'students', runs very relaxed evening workshops, is extremely helpful and knowledgeable - and all that with the best music collection I have ever experienced in such classes."

"Richard is a brilliant tutor with a seemingly endless wealth of expertise. I've attended both the one-day and evening sessions and have always left Rainbow Studios with a brain full-to-bursting, tired but creatively charged-up, and chuffed to bits with what I've made. Richard guides with a gentle hand when needed, allowing you to follow your own path but making sure you always come away with a piece of glass you're proud of, no matter what your level! The studio itself is well-stocked and hung with many pieces of glass providing inspiration and reference points. I'd highly recommend taking a course at Rainbow Studios - you'll also hear some brilliant music from Richard's vast iPod collection - Radio Paton."

"Richard and Eleanor are superb teachers. They inspire and instruct in a way that always leaving you wanting to sign up to more courses. I have attended this course and now have my own small kiln and make small fused glass objects. The fused glass jewellery course was fantastic. I do not count myself as particularly good at design but Richard helps you gently along. I travel from West Sussex to attend these amazing courses - it is worth the travel just to learn more and watch mastery in action. Thank You. I will be back for more!"

"I've done a weekend and an evening course. The teachers - Richard and Eleanor - were very supportive with excellent knowledge. I liked the workshop place itself. It's inspiring to create in a place where you see beautifull works on the walls. There was also a possibility to drop in for one evening paying only for that class if there was a place. I liked this flexibility and I'm sure I'll use this possibility in the future. I would reccomend to anyone these courses."

"a very good class - small enough for individual attention, well equipped studio, exposure to the various techniques used in fusing glass, a patient, professional teacher, good music on the ipod, copious quantities of tea / coffee and biscuits, welcoming atmosphere and even if you have never worked in glass before, the course will inspire you to sign up for other classes."

"When I first met Richard, I told him I did not believe I could do anything with my hands, but I badly wanted to work with glass. He replied that I should just enrol on the course and see how it goes. So - I did just that. Having attended the initial weekend courses, I have been coming to the evening classes for around ten years non-stop now. You may well conclude that I have a very high opinion of this seriously well equipped studio itself, but even more - of Richard. Well - yes. He seems to me to be exceptional in a number of ways. First there is that extremely wide range of techniques he knows and can teach. Then comes the reassuring touch he posses while teaching people like me who come to him with no prior knowledge of any technique. This ability is enriched by the unique friendly atmosphere he facilitates with us every week afresh. The place is buzzing with creativity. I have been benefitting greatly not only from all these qualities but also from Richard's genuine sense of curiosity about what each of us is trying to do, and his ingenuity in finding new solutions to unexpected problems and challenges. The only thing I dread is the possibility that, for some reason, he has to close this special place one day. Oded"

"Have attended several of Richard's one day workshops. Stained glass - a present from my husband, I made an amazing stained glass panel. I booked myself and a friend in for her 50th to make her own jewellery (as a birthday present). We had a fabulous day and the end results were fantastic. Then (my favourite of all) two separate days of fusing glass - one with my daughter for a present. We had a great day and the bowls, plates and coasters were fabulous - even if I say so myself. Richard is an expert with endless patience - groups are small so that you get individual help if needed. A wonderful present for all ages (adults!) with excellent end results - needless to say I will be booking again! Thank you :)"

"This one-day workshop surpassed my expectations - lots of learning, great fun and very satisfying results. Richard is a knowledgeable and patient teacher who provided useful instruction, plentiful materials and a pleasant workspace. He was able to work with each of us at our levels of skill/experience - advanced, tried it once and back for me, and novices. I am already thinking about taking this workshop again when I can."
