"If you love yarn there is no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than in Carries fabulous workshop. Having enjoyed the beginners course with my daughters in the summer, we quickly booked ourselves on to the second course and were totally addicted. Last month I took a party from Glossop League of Ladies WI and now they are converts too! From the conversation to the cake, you should not miss these courses- we will be back ?"

"As a novice to yarn dyeing, I really enjoyed my afternoon with a friendly group of ladies and learnt a lot about yarns dyes in a short space of time. I’d recommend the course for a fun relaxed afternoon with Carrie and Lisa and it was also interesting to hear experiences with knitting and dyeing from the other ladies. I took home a lovely shades of green skein to use. The shop is set in the picturesque High Peak village of Tideswell and has many lovely skeins and items to tempt you. Definitely worth a visit!"

"What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, yarn, colour, like minded people, tea and cake! This was an excellent introduction to yarn dying, I was particularly fascinated to learn how to read hand dyed yarn. If you love wool and colour or just want to experience something different I'd definitely recommend this. Thanks Carrie!"

"A wonderful afternoon in a beautiful workspace and local yarn shop. A fantastic and extremely informative introduction to yarn dyeing. Carrie and Lisa are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, kind and pass on their passion for yarn and yarn dyeing. Even before the yarn dyeing began Carrie got our creative juices flowing but guiding us on how to read skeins. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about this workshop. We have booked onto the next workshop in 2020. Thank you to Carrie & Lisa for a memorable day."

"I attended an Introduction to Yarn Dyeing yesterday with my crafting friend. We had a really super day. We decided to meet up in Tideswell before the course started and enjoyed a hearty breakfast in High Nelly's café. We even had time to enjoy a spot of crochet over a coffee before taking the short walk to the yarn shop where the course was being held. Carrie was a fantastic tutor and before we were let loose with the dyes, we learnt a great deal about the effects that can be achieved, depending on how you choose to distribute colour on your skein. We wore old clothes just in case, but it really wasn't that messy and we managed to stay clean! We were provided with disposable gloves to wear but I may take an old apron with me next time as it would be easy to get splashed. The afternoon flew by, but at no point did we feel rushed. There was more than enough time for us to dye two skeins of yarn and we have both returned home feeling very satisfied with our creations and can't wait to attend another, more advanced course to learn even more with Carrie! Oh and the homemade cake was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful day."

"I attended my first course with Carrie early last year, it was great! So good that I immediately signed up to her Next Steps in Yarn Dyeing. Carrie is very good at describing what to do and demonstrating what you might achieve, and you do! I learnt so much on my first course and couldn't wait to go back. She even accommodated my disability by putting in a lower table and chairs for me to work at. Carrie's studio is also her shop, with lots of lovely yarn and stuff to buy, how can you resist?"

"I went on the Introduction to Yarn Dyeing workshop today with my friend and cannot recommend it enough. Carrie (and Lisa) were so lovely and helpful. Carrie explained everything so clearly, and demonstrated how to dye the yarn so we could achieve the effects we wanted. We were kept hydrated with plenty of tea and coffee (and there was home made cake!). We came away with a skein (or two if you want to do an additional one) of beautiful yarn, and armed with the knowledge on how to dye yarn using acid dyes. I would do this course again, and I am tempted by the follow on course (or even the camp)."

"I have attended each of the dye courses that Carrie offers and have learned so much from her. The fact that I keep going back is testament to her teaching, patience, humour and first rate facilities. The environment is welcoming and friendly and although I have always entered on my own, the way Carrie welcomes and encourages everyone means within minutes I have felt comfortable and at ease. The shop is packed full of temptation and everything you need to continue your new found hobby. I cannot recommend these courses highly enough. If you like yarn, you WILL love this"

"Fantastic time today learning to read and dye wool. Carrie was really knowledgable and very patient. I was really nervous but was soon put at ease. A warm friendly environment to begin an exploration into colour and dyeing. Fantastic value for money . Looking forward to knitting the results - if you are in any doubt just go for it!!"

"A really enjoyable day. Carrie was a warm and kind person, who has created a beautiful space in which to pass on her knowledge. Although I went on my own, the other participants were all friendly. We learnt lots and had fun, ending up with some beautiful skeins which we had made all by ourselves. There was also the opportunity to look around Carrie's shop, and buy some of her lovely yarn."

"It was a wonderful workshop, great fun to do and watch Carrie work. Carrie is a fantastic teacher and craftswoman. I learned a lot. Also I could buy in her shop everything for knitting my first ever socks with the wool I dyed and bought some beautiful wool dyed by Carrie. They turned out so great. I haven’t stopped knitting socks after that :-)"

"An absolutely brilliant day that my husband and I attended. All basics were covered, what was especially useful was learning how to ‘read’ skeins. Then the fun bit! Being let loose with all of those colours! We both dyed two skeins each and would have kept going if there was time! I’d love to do the next level up and even dye camp. I keep dropping hints...."

"I attended this course with 3 friends as a birthday treat for 1 of the girls in September 2019. We had an amazing time, Carrie was very helpful and gave us lots of information and demonstrations. Nothing was too much trouble. We are going to be booking the next level course for next year, can’t wait. I would highly recommend for anyone who wants to try a new skill or to gain extra experience."

"Had a fabulous afternoon learning how to dye yarn with Carrie at Peak District Yarns. I have had a ‘dabble’ myself but learned so much on this fantastic course. Small group so everyone had lots of attention from Carrie who demonstrated the processes so well. Being in her shop, surrounded by all her lovely hand dyed yarn was very inspiring, so it was lovely to ‘have a go’ with all her dyes and there was enough time to dye two skeins. It was very interesting to see everyone’s colour choices and how they looked in the finished skeins. There was also the opportunity to buy some dyes to carry on at home. I look forward to doing the next steps course very soon. Thank you Carrie"

"I love yarn so thought I would try my hand at dyeing. Well, the introduction course with Carrie does it all, totally awesome ?. I learnt an amazing amount and loved the small group with the individual attention and all inclusive with all the attendees. Amazing to see other people’s ideas and I’m hooked. I had to book and do the next steps course as well, and now I just need a week off for the full week course. Yes that’s how inspired I was and my week off at Christmas I have all the things I need to dye my own yarn. Oh and Peak District yarns are gorgeous!"
