I am a professional artist and fully qualified teacher with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and a PGCE specialising in Post-Compulsory Art & Design teaching. I have over 18 years experience working in arts education, most recently as a course leader in FE, and now work as an independent tutor and artist running workshops throughout the year in Sussex, UK. I teach at various venues including West Dean College, Hove Museum and the beautiful Paddock Studio in historic Lewes. My classes are suitable for both beginners and those wishing to revisit and develop their printmaking skills. I keep group sizes small to allow everyone space to work in a relaxed, friendly, environment and I am on hand to offer practical advice and encourage an experimental approach to printmaking alongside tips for continuing your work at home.
"I absolutely LOVED this workshop with May - it's so well considered, well resourced and excellently paced - I'm a total beginner, and she is patient, relaxed and generous with her knowledge, offering honest encouragement and adeptly handling a mixed ability group. It's such a fun and rewarding way to spend time, learning so many different techniques - thank you May - I will be back!!"
"Very good class- May was an excellent teacher. Explained all processes well and was helpful with her advice and experience as a printmaker
Thoroughly enjoyable weekend course! "
