"This is the second time I’ve been on this course. It was a birthday present from my sister and I came with her and my daughter. We all had a fantastic time rummaging through all the treasures in the studio. All our lampshades were so different and all so beautiful. Thank you so much Max, I couldn’t have had a better birthday."

"We had a fantastic day making lampshades for my sister's birthday present. Wonderfully taught by the lovely Max. Hoards of fabric, buttons, bits and bobs. Biscuits and cakes to top it off. I would highly recommend the course. I plan on coming back to make another lampshade. Thank you Max for a wonderful day we really enjoyed ourselves."

"Let there be light! . My sister and I attended a workshop with Maxine 4 weeks ago and it was a fantastic day. We both came away buzzing with excitement and a beautiful lampshade. Maxine was very generous in her time, sharing her knowledge in a supportive and enabling manner aided by plenty of tea and ?. So many ideas discussed and lots of fabrics and embellishments to choose from in the haven of a dedicated workshop space. Maxine’s passion for her craft shines through and I will be booking another workshop next year......there is always room for another lampshade."

"I spent a fantastic day with a friend in Max's beautiful workshop. We rummaged through a huge assortment of fabrics and embellishments as well as learning how to screen print. Max has amazing sewing machines that can do stitches beyond anything I've ever seen before! And then we learnt how to put all our hard work with the fabrics into creating a lampshade. Max is knowledgeable and patient and I can't recommend her highly enough. Also cupcakes!"

"I got this workshop as a Christmas present and went along on the day with a friend and another lady, it was a really fab day and Maxine was so helpful! She helped us all decide on what we wanted to do by looking at the images we had brought with us and showing a few she a had made! She was a great teacher and talked through the lampshade making at every step, giving you as much or as little help as you wanted depending on experience with a sewing machine! I absolutely love my lampshade and it’s great to come home with a completed craft at the end of the day which is both functional and useful around the house!"

"I am absoulutely thrilled with my lampshade and all the different skills I was introduced to during Max's lampshade workshop, including using her amazing sewing machine, screen printing & of course the magic of putting the lampshade together. Max is lovely, encouraging & patient. Theres so many beautiful fabrics & embellishments to choose from. All under the roof of a perfect purpose built studio. Highly recommend."

"Me and 2 friends had a blast during our day. We varied in skill set from ‘have used a sewing machine’ to ‘I have no clue’. We also had a mix of ideas some structured and thought out, others just a colour idea but nothing solid. Maxine helped us all stretch ourselves and steered us in a way which felt very considerate of our goals for the day....we also got homemade cake and snacky bits which were a bonus. Amazing day. Would deffo book again and recommend."
