"My wife and I did the half day course, and with no experience in jewellery making I thought I’d be leaving with something resembling a ring pull at best. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Linda showed us various techniques in jewellery making with ideas of what we could make in our session, both choosing to make silver rings, we learned to anneal and emboss with a design of our choosing, shape and finish the rings to, dare I say, a professional finish. The studio is spacious with good facilities, there’s equipment for everything you need to make your own piece. All in, a fantastic experience for us. "

We were made to feel really at home and really special during our workshop and had the freedom to get really creative with Linda. "There were two of us on this course, complete novices, and what a great time we had! I had no idea how much was involved in making an item of jewellery and have a new respect for those who do it for a living or as a hobby! Linda was a very patient teacher, very creative, always making helpful suggestion to allow us to achieve or improve whatever ideas we had come up with. The little workshop is very well equipped and ideally located within the grounds of Belgrave Hall, so it was lovely and quiet and we could go for a wander and have our picnic in the gardens and courtyard. And at the end of the day we came out with our very own item of jewellery! The course was great fun, very instructive, and I would recommend it to anyone!!"

"I thoroughly enjoyed Linda’s workshop. There was a small group of 4 which was perfect. We had the choice of making earrings, pendant, bangle or a ring. I decided on some earrings. Linda was really encouraging and gave lots of guidance so we could achieve something special. I decided on a pair of earrings and I’m so thrilled with them! Not only did I learn a lot of jewellery making skills, I also learnt another technique called keum boo where you bond 24ct gold onto your piece. Thanks Linda for such a great day. Can’t wait to come back"

"As a complete beginner this class was perfect, but it is also for more experienced makers or those visiting again! We all came away with something we were very happy with and all different from each other, one person made three stacking rings, another a pair of long dangly earrings and I made a necklace and small ring. Linda was a great teacher and explained the whole process with patience and enthusiasm, the small class size making the lesson feel personal and very educational."

"I didn't know what to expect for this course as I had never done a one day jewellery workshop before, but I was totally blown away! Was such a lovely day. I felt very supported by Linda and despite the varying abilities within the group, Linda managed to provide personalised attention and help to each one of us. I could tell that Linda had put a lot of time and energy in to preparing for the workshop, everything moved along fluidly and if there was anything we were unsure about she would be quick to explain in an easy-to-understand manner. There was in general a great atmosphere and the addition of tea and biscuits which is always nice. The setting was also gorgeous, in an old brick circular tower with lots of light and clean space. I was encouraged to explore a new method and as a result I learnt new skills and came away with a piece that I was really happy with. I highly recommend these workshops. Both the full day and the half day. Would be a great gift for both those who have experience with jewellery making and those who have never tried it before."

"Went on a one day course a few months ago, enjoyed it at the time but looking back I feel slightly cheated. I don't feel the instructor, Linda, completely connected with us or have us each enough direction or attention. I think having 4 people on the course was too much for her and the time available. We were all pushed into doing quite a lot and the day overran by over an hour, because of this my pieces were rushed and aren't properly finished with lots of small scratches and imperfections that wouldn't be there if the day were properly prepared. I was surprised the £100 didn't cover the core materials, this is an unavoidable hidden charge. I wouldn't go on one of three courses again"

I would also like to take this chance to comment on your points:- 1. Re not connecting: I’m sorry you felt that there was no connection, and enough direction and attention. It is so important to me that students have great time. Feedback has always been positive but I take your comments onboard. 2. Re hidden costs: It does state in the description that materials are not included and how much you can expect to pay. 3. Re over running: I do overrun on occasions but this is more an exception than the rule. I do hope you don’t judge my workshops by this one experience. My Facebook reviews show another side to my workshops and a lot of happy students. I strive to create an experience that is fun, relaxed and really positive.
