Maker's bio

About tutor and printmaker Laura Sowerby Laura creates intricate botanical prints and handmade wallpaper in linocut from her picturesque studio in the Langdale Fells. Her work has been featured in Country Living, Gardens Illustrated, Country Homes and Interiors and The English Home magazines and has been shown in galleries both locally and nationally. She is a regular exhibitor at Cumbria’s own Printfest and Great Print Exhibitions . She is currently writing a book on botanical linocut for Crowood press.

"A lovely day creating a floral oil based linocut print. The teaching was well judged and thorough and Laura was very welcoming and encouraging. The venue at Ambleside was delightful and we were well supplied with delicious food. All in all a great workshop - thank you Laura"

"There is a great deal to do Lino printing successfully. It is all credit to Laura that somehow she managed to get us all through the various stages. It was a fully engrossing day, full of interest and learning on many different levels. I heartily recommend anyone to try it out. I should be interested in any other courses Laura is putting forward.
