Heather reviewed: Stained Glass Traditional (lead work) Method - Taster

"We attended the lead-work course as complete beginners. Ruth was very knowledgeable, encouraging and really sought to build our confidence. Ruth herself is quite a character and happy to share details of her remarkable life. We had a lovely afternoon and left with pieces we are very proud of. "

KelZig responded:

"Thank you for the lovely review. It was a great afternoon. I love the learning process in an informal environment and believe the process of making new things brings mindfulness in a therapeutic way. I loved the conversation and went home making up chicken names which I duly applied to the flock at my brothers home the following morning. We all take something beneficial away from a joyfully creative time."

"I cannot rate this course highly enough. A thoroughly enjoyable time with Ruth learning a new way to work with glass. Ruth is a very welcoming, encouraging, supportive teacher. As well as creating something I am really pleased with, spending time with Ruth was a joy. The time goes really quickly. I can't wait to pick up my stepping stone and show it off!! I hope you book a course and enjoy spending time with Ruth creating something you're proud of too."

KelZig responded:

"It was a wonderful day. Amazing conversation and time to zone out from the outside world. You also made a really amazing stepping stone. Definitely going onto the Instagram wall as a showpiece! Thank you for the lovely review and I hope to see you again next time you're in our neck of the woods."

Julia Hill reviewed: Stained Glass Tiffany (Copper foil) Method - Taster

"Had an absolutely great time with Ruth, she is so patient, I have never cut glass before (and I broke a few bits) . She was kind and showed me how to do it more than once. She was attentive and kind. Makes a good brew as well, we had a laugh and the class went so quickly and I will definitely be going back again, hopefully to break less bits lol"

KelZig responded:

"Thank you Julia, Its really rewarding to see folks come in, cut their first piece and really get into the project. I love to see my students return and the regulars are getting to know each other and share their resources, which makes teaching the groups all the more satisfying - We had loads of fun - See you in the Summer!"

Ruth Kelsey reviewed: Glass in Concrete for Beginners

"Had the most amazing time with Ruth and Carol (my fellow attendee). It was such fun to learn a new skill. Ruth was so helpful and encouraging and really made the session one to remember! There really is something therapeutic about making things by hand. What can be better than spending time with lovely people learning something new. The time went by far too quickly and cannot wait to get back and try something else ❤️"

KelZig responded:

"Over the years I have discovered that an informal joyful environment works best for most attendees. Mix that with such joyful attendees and that sense of achievement extrapolates. It was really great fun having you with us and the relaxed conversation was fab. Definitely hope to see you soon!"

Carol reviewed: Glass in Concrete for Beginners

"This course was amazing on every level, Ruth is an excellent host and a great teacher, it was a fantastic way to spend a morning. I learned a new skill, and was so immersed I didn't notice the time, can't wait to go back and try another course."

KelZig responded:

"Carol, you blew my mind. While the idea is to give the attendees a great time, I really had fun too. I cannot wait to see you at a follow up course or one of the other courses. Working in small groups is so rewarding and as a single sex group it was simply amazing. Remember slower setting concrete is better!"

"I highly recommend Ruth and the traditional stained glass taser session. Ruth created a very welcoming space for me to learn new skills. She has a massive amount of knowledge to share and is generous in doing so. Everything I needed was available. The atmosphere was very relaxed, very friendly and great fun. If you've ever been inspired to learn something like this I highly recommend doing so under Ruth's expert guidance."

KelZig responded:

"I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the day. The whole idea is to deliver a great experience and a new skill that can be used at home or to develop your craft. We all really enjoyed the day."

"Had an absolutely fantastic day with Ruth. She made everything really clear and fun. I didn't feel rushed and ended up with a really beautiful stained glass panel. I would definitely recommend this class."

KelZig responded:

"When another artist or creator comes for a session, it’s always going to be great. It really was so enjoyable. Some soft music in the background, sharing ideas and skills and seeing you take delight in the end result, is why I do this. Hope to see you again!"
