I am an artist and designer, living and working near Ely. Having been a professional designer for all of my working life, I now create artwork and surface patterns inspired by a love of decorative and historical design. I find joy experimenting with different colour palettes and enjoy the challenge of adding hand and free motion embroidery to my paper collages to add detail and texture.
For me creativity is not just a ‘thing', it's a way of life. I don't differentiate between who I am, what I create and how I live my life. It is a joy and a privilage to share my skills and knowledge with others and continue to learn in return.
"Super day experimenting with the gel plate techniques, using lovely colours to make lots of patterns on papers. Karen showed us so many different ways of working, it was fun, different and the day flew by. I've made 20 Christmas cards with my days efforts."
Karen Patricia Hendry responded:
"Thank you for your lovely feedback Meg. I'm thrilled you so enjoyed the day and how wonderful you have been so creative since it. It will be very special for those who will receive those handmade cards this Christmas. "
"Karen was an excellent artist, teacher and communicator. She was very clear and well organised. She taught the skills at a good pace for the group.
We would thoroughly recommend her courses."
Karen Patricia Hendry responded:
"Thank you to both of you for your feedback and kind comments. It was a lovely group and you were an important part of that. It was wonderful to watch you both build your skills as the day progressed. I wish you well on your creative journey."

"The workshop was a fabulous introduction to gelli plate printing. I can't wait to get a plate and carry on experimenting at home. Karen was a great teacher - we had lots of inspiration and encouragement. I strongly recommend the workshop and the venue.
