Sally Wheal reviewed: Ecodyeing - a full day introduction to leaves, rust, heat and fabric alchemy!

"We spent a really inspiring day with Judy, her teaching style is really relaxed but she is very knowledgable and covers so much in a day, as well as being an excellent host. She explained everything really clearly and provided excellent handouts after the course. We are really excited to do more and left feeling confident that we could have a go ourselves. The results were amazing and we were thrilled with what we made. Would definitely recommend this course."

Chris Brookes reviewed: Ecodyeing with Natural Dyes and Indigo. An Intermediate Course.

"An action packed day full of useful techniques. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone. Judy is well prepared and knowledgeable. A lovely lunch was provided as a bonus. Please note that to get the best from the day you will need to have a basic knowledge of the subject before doing an intermediate course."

Rachel Frost reviewed: Ecodyeing - a full day introduction to leaves, rust, heat and fabric alchemy!

"Judy is warm and friendly and an excellent teacher. The day was well prepared and I had a great time experimenting under her watchful, expert eye. I took away two printed silk scarves which I will enjoy using and a couple of fabric samples which I know I can sew into something useful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone who wants to try something a bit different, learn a new skill and have a fun day out."

Judy P. dye - print - weave responded:

"I am really glad that you enjoyed the day Rachel and that you liked the results. Your choice of lengthwise fold for the silk scarves was great, and reminded me to use that design myself. I hope that you keep going with ecodyeing techniques."

"This was an excellent workshop. Great value for money....I felt like I came away with so many useful pieces of fabric, a silk scarf, and another length of silk that could be finished into a scarf. The weather was beautiful, and it was a brilliant day. And this is definitely something I will be doing from home....started searching on line for the things I will need so I can make a start. Thanks Judy....can’t wait to get started on my new craft"

Judy P. dye - print - weave responded:

"Thanks Helen, I’m really glad you got such a lot out of the workshop. You were an enthusiastic learner and produced lovely work."

Helen P Lane reviewed: Ecodyeing - a full day introduction to leaves, rust, heat and fabric alchemy!

"This was a fantastic day from start to finish. Judy was very generous with her time, knowledge, materials and of course her delicious home made butternut squash soup. She showed us lots of samples and clearly explained techniques to help us make decisions on how we placed foliage, if we used an iron blanket and lots more. We came away with several large samples, a silk scarf and a set of gorgeous papers. I can't think of anything to improve the workshop. We really enjoyed our day at Judy's home. I have lots to think about and experiment with at home. Thanks for a brill day."

Judy P. dye - print - weave responded:

"Thanks Helen, I was beginning to think I might change it to Leek and Potato soup. Glad you enjoyed the day. Hope to see you again soon."

Helen Newton reviewed: Ecodyeing - a full day introduction to leaves, rust, heat and fabric alchemy!

"Judy's day workshop was so full of exciting things. There was such a lot to learn and Judy had so much information to impart that the day went by very quickly. We had lots of fun and every minute was filled so we really got our money's worth. After foraging in Judy's garden for a variety of leaves and twigs we started working on silk samples, and the ones that we produced were all different but pleasingly successful for a first attempt. After a delicious lunch of home made soup and bread we then went on to print on silk scarves which was great fun. I was very happy with the pieces that I made and can't wait until Spring, when I can try to use these techniques at home. Thank you Judy for giving me the bug."

Judy P. dye - print - weave responded:

"Thanks for your review Helen, and I'm glad you enjoyed the experience. It was indeed a busy day. You produced some lovely work as did the other students, and I do hope that you set up at home in the spring. I would love to know how you get on."

"This was an excellent introduction to ecodyeing with a huge amount of information and production packed into the day. Judy's approach, going from working on small samples up to full size scarves, was perfect. First time I've come back from a course with the family loving everything I'd produced! My daughter is already sourcing equipment for me. Lovely lunch too!"

Judy P. dye - print - weave responded:

"So glad that you enjoyed the course Tony, it was a pleasure to work with you all. You are right, a lot is packed into the day. And I do hope that you get everything set up to start doing this at home - that’s what I really hope students will do. Keep me posted."
