Geoff Thiel reviewed: Alternative firing - Introduction to Naked Clay Workshop - West Sussex

"I attended the Naked Raku Intensive workshop run over one and a half days. I have done a fair bit of raku in the past but this course just proves that there is always more to you can learn! I was very pleased with the beautiful results we achieved and I have now added ferric chloride and one-step naked raku to the firings that I can try myself. John has the course timing perfect and we were kept busy from start to finish. Everyone was allowed to try the exciting bits including taking the red-hot pots out of the kiln if they wanted to! Very nice people and great food. Highly recommended."

Brenda Potter reviewed: Alternative firing - Introduction to Naked Clay Workshop - West Sussex

"Very well planned and delivered course, time was spent very productively and there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions about our individual practice. The firing process was calm and controlled but at the same time exciting, with fascinating results from a number of different raku processes. I learnt an enormous amount, both days were very productive and enjoyable in a convivial atmosphere, helped along by excellent food and good company. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this course to anyone at whatever stage of ceramic enquiry they are at, it really was a treat!"

Alec Roberts reviewed: Alternative firing - Introduction to Naked Clay Workshop - West Sussex

"This was an outstanding course and just right for me at this stage in my development. The quality of the materials was excellent. The standard of the teaching was also excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The food and drink was delicious (Moroccan soup, bread, salad, shortbread biscuits and freshly ground coffee). We had great fun with fire in a safe and well managed environment."

Cath Moore reviewed: Alternative firing - Introduction to Naked Clay Workshop - West Sussex

"John delivered an informative and fun course, expertly covering a variety of naked clay techniques. I am very happy with the results I produced as a complete novice and much enjoyed appraising the work of my fellow attendees. The lunch, both days, was delicious, and it was lovely to chat to such an interesting bunch of potters and our hosts John, Janet & Tom. Thanks for the advice and encouragement, I'll be back! All the best, Cath"
