Joan was a lovely and extremely knowledgeable teacher.
She talked and showed us the basics and then let us free to use our own creativity.
We managed to fit so much in the time and I'm made up with how much I made!
Such an amazing afternoon can't wait to come and finish off my pieces!
Highly recommended!

Joan was an excellent teacher. She gave us clear and patient guidance whilst allowing us freedom to be creative. The introductory class was a good taster of many techniques with plenty of time to make a few peices. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing afternoon.

I had a lovely day learning how to make a pinch pot, a tealight, and make a pot on the potters wheel. Joan was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the course and can’t wait to go back!

I really enjoyed this beginners pottery course. Joan was a very encouraging teacher who managed to explain everything clearly. We fitted a lot into the afternoon yet I never felt rushed and the afternoon flew by. I would recommend without hesitation.

A lovely session getting started with basic techniques. Just the right balance of teaching, guidance/advice and independent work.
Looking forward to going back for more!!

Not having done pottery before I was excited and a little nervous as to what to expect at the Introduction Class. I need not have worried as Joan gave me all the support I needed in a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. Joan's workshop is magical and I was surprised as to how much pottery I was able to make. I enjoyed the class so much that I came home and booked another session straight away!

Four of us did a taster session as a birthday treat for our teenage daughter. Joan was welcoming, a great teacher and she was generous with her time, knowledge and praise. She very kindly offered to fire and glaze our poor initial efforts (we were first time pottery throwers). All together a great experience and recommended. We will make the time to return.

A really enjoyable course. Joan is knowledgeable about a wide range of clay building methods, and is really patient!
I went on the course wanting to learn how to throw on the wheel, but have also found that I enjoy hand building as well.
I could have spent hours in her workshop turning down pots as I find that the concentration is so therapeutic.
I have been back 3 times now, and am looking forward to more this year.

Met Joan and she inspired me to take up Pottery and if anyone is ill, I would highly recommend that they take a course of pottery in Joan's Den 😀 I come for 3 hours and the time fly's by, I have learnt to use the pottery wheel and made a lighthouse (quite complicated as several pieces need joining) but I still have problems centering on the wheel which Joan is helping me with. I have also made cups, bowls and a small teapot 😀

What a delight! Three hours hard work (well it is now I'm retired), passed in the blink of an eye. Joan, the tutor, is clearly very experienced and very patient with a total novice! I'm not usually a big fan of mucky hands and "yes, Joan" I know my nails are a bit long but I can't wait for next week to see if my masterpiece is still intact. I would highly recommend this course which is growing in popularity.
