"An excellent course when I learnt a lot but didn't feel overwhelmed with information. A good balance between the amount of verbal tutoring and time for practical application. A comfortable, friendly approach and some excellent exemplars together with pen, ink and practice sheets to take home. It was a lovely bonus to have lunch included which allowed time to look at the books and examples Sunita had provided."

"After attending Sunita’s Excellent Modern Calligraphy course some months ago I decided to give Traditional Calligraphy a try yesterday. I was not disappointed. Sunita is an excellent tutor starting the day by allowing us to introduce ourselves and explore what we wanted to get out of the day. The day continued with tutorials interspersed with practice sessions during which Sunita moved amongst us helping and advising. We were all engrossed and the time just flew by. Thank you so much. "I absolutely loved the course you did on Saturday. I have been doing some low level calligraphy over the last 5 years or so and where I live there aren't any opportunities for developing my skills. I enjoyed learning a new script but what I loved the most about the workshop was experimenting with different colours, which I had not done before and learning about the different ways of continuing. I also enjoyed hearing about your projects and seeing the different approaches/layouts you tried out. That was fascinating."

"The course was well prepared and delivered with a view to each participant's abilities. There was a good supply of equipment and was well designed for the beginner. The day offered plenty of time for demonstration and practice. One practice, which was very profitable, was to share in each other's work. Interestingly, the group gelled and seemed to see itself as a unit. Encouragement to continue came during the day and in follow-up communication."

"I really enjoyed this course, the first time I have ever tackled something “crafty.” Sunita’s approach to teaching the script was to tackle the letters in groups which we then practised before learning the next group. I found this a very manageable way to learn. She was very encouraging to those of us who were complete novices and helped us to improve our technique. The introduction of the watercolours and metallic paints, together with the beautiful cards, opened my eyes to what I might be able to achieve. I liked that there was also some script to trace to produce a beautiful Christmas card, for those of us not yet confident with our freehand writing. This was an inspiring introduction to modern calligraphy which I would recommend. Thank you Sunita!"

"A very relaxing and inspiring day! All materials including the pen, ink, lettering guide and different types of paper & card were provided and the placecard name bookmark gave a welcoming start to the day. Sunita is an experienced teacher and her ability to differentiate the pace to suit individual learners means that the course is equally suitable for both beginners and those with previous experience. The demonstration of each letter family with lots of time to practise afterwards gave a really good grounding in how to produce different letter shapes. Sunita gave individual help as needed with lots of encouragement to vary layouts and develop an individual style and the choice of projects in the afternoon gave the opportunity to use different coloured inks and papers to produce bookmarks, cards and gift tags - all great fun!"
