"Went to Glenmedini yesterday for this women’s carpentry course…. a brilliant day. Jess is a great teacher and I learnt so much, including that I have been using a saw wring for about 50 years!! All of the tools and techniques were explained and demonstrated very clearly and we then put it all into practice building something to take home. I chose to make a window herb box…. it’s not perfect as I still need to work on my skills but I am very proud of it. Thanks for such a good day Jess"

"I thoroughly enjoyed this course with Jess. There were 6 of us in total and we all had the attention we needed to be able to feel confident working our projects. The environment was excellent with everything we needed at hand (plus extras in the form of waffles!!!). The pace was just right and we all chose and created the items we wanted. I am thrilled with my stool and proud of all achieved. I returned home bursting with information to share and factoids about saws, measuring tapes and so much more! "I had such a brilliant day at Jess's Women's Woodwork Workshop. The setting was relaxed and welcoming, and Jess made everyone feel at ease straight away. She explained the tools and techniques clearly, with a strong focus on safety, and then gave us plenty of hands-on time to put everything into practice. We all worked on the same project, which was a great way to learn step by step together. Jess was patient, encouraging, and always ready with helpful guidance whenever anyone needed it. By the end of the day I not only had a sturdy finished piece to take home, but also the confidence to start thinking about tackling more projects on my own. The workshop was really well organised, with all tools and materials provided, and the endless supply of tea, coffee, and biscuits kept everyone going. I'd highly recommend it to anyone curious about woodworking, whether you're a complete beginner or just want to build a bit of confidence - and I'm already looking forward to going back for the more advanced workshop. "

"The course was so well organised. Jess had all the equipment required and gave excellent simple instructions that gave us confidence to carry out each stage of our project. From a plank of wood we all produced beautifully items. I am thrilled with my bird box and will be putting up in my garden this week. He’s was so calm and welcoming and the whole day although busy was carried out in an atmosphere of calm. I would love to go again and inspired to try to make more out of wood. I would recommend anyone to have a go and attend a course. Thanks Jess for a fantastic experience. "

"I thoroughly enjoyed this course. I have always felt slightly robbed, I attended a girls grammar school in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. We were channelled into needlework and cookery, not woodwork! This course popped up and I thought it looked exactly what I’d been looking for. I was not disappointed, it was informative, educational, hands on and great fun. Jess is very patient and constructive with her advice and has a good sense of humour, too. A great day and I am glad I attended. Thanks, Jess and thanks to the other ladies for friendly support. I’ll be back, by the way I can cook but am still useless at anything to do with a sewing needle. 😀"

"Had an absolute brilliant day with the lovely Jess in her workshop in beautiful surroundings. Jess is a brilliant teacher, very patient, friendly, and made everyone feel at ease. Everything was explained simply, with lots of good tips. As an absolute beginner of woodworking, and zero knowledge on how to use a power tool I came away not only with a beautiful usable wooden tray, but also the confidence to do more projects. Will definitely be back. "

"Oh my gosh! WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! My mother, my sister and I went to do this as a Mother’s Day gift after my mother had mentioned she’d heard about courses you could do in woodworking near West Wales. My sister and I have absolutely zero idea on anything wood, anything tool, anything DYI and my mams experience is grab a saw and hope for the best haha. Straight away as soon as we turned up there was a great vibe. Jess is FANTASTIC. Super lovely, super friendly and put everyone at ease making us feel confident to be able to create something cool. Lots of choices of things to make, hard decision but don’t worry I’m sure we will be back again to make something different! It was a really easygoing atmosphere, could pop over to the kitchen to grab a cuppa whenever, and there was the added bonus of biccies and waffles provided by Jess too! I could go on and on, but all that needs to be said is IT'S AMAZING. So go and do it people! And while you’re at it, stay at the cottage that is there too which looks absolutely fabulous! Beautiful place, only 10 mins from the beach! "

"Had an amazing day with Jess learning how to use the tools and create a lovely tray. Really proud of the finished product because I never thought I’d be able to make something so lovely. The setting in west Wales is in a beautiful part of the world so I made a weekend of it and visited the countryside nearby. The tutor is really patient and helpful and has come up with a selection of really lovely things to choose to make. I’ll definitely try to come back for another session. I feel I’ve learned so much. Really inspired. Thank you!"

"I booked this course to upskill myself from zero woodwork skills to help a renovation project and honestly from the first moment I met Jess and entered her beautiful workshop, I felt at ease. Everything was explained simply, with lots of help and guidance when needed, also enriched with laughter, tea and waffles! I was quite overwhelmed even with the sawing, but with encouragement from Jess and all the other ladies, my confidence grew and I felt on top of the world!
