"We were treated to this course as a present, and were really grateful because it was a fantastic few hours. We now have pens to remind us of it - not just functional, but beautiful, handmade pens that don't look like they were made by a couple of novices! We use them all the time. We could choose from different types (rollerball, fountain, etc.) and an assortment of different woods and coloured acrylics meant the possibility of a surprisingly large range of finished appearances. Duncan was a first rate tutor - patient, knowledgeable and personable, and able to solve the couple of slightly sticky situations we inevitably got ourselves in. He nevertheless gave us the space to create the finished product more or less ourselves (and was always ready to supply cups of tea). Would recommend to anyone!"

"Duncan us a truely talented woodturner and tutor. His skill and passion is clearly demonstrated throughout the day. His hospitality and generosity really adds to the experience. Duncan shared in our excitement as we created our pens at the transformation of the wood as it's uniqueness was revealed. There was a relaxed atmosphere and quiet sense of humour throughout the day. We have been recommending Duncan's workshops to friends and family throughout the week and if you are interested in booked would definitely encourage you to as you won't be disappointed and will have beautiful pens tot are home with you. I was concerned when I booked as I have been wood turning for some time and I wanted to understand the nuances of turning pens rather than basics of turning, I needn't have worried as Duncan ascertained my needs really early on and was flexible enough to meet those needs giving me room to work on the lathe without micro input once he was confident about my ability, The pen choices were extensive and he worked with me to find components that matched the pen to a wooden strapped watch I own. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Duncan in his well equipped workshop and came away with a pen that I will treasure. Thank you sir!!! Sincerely Gary"

What we made totally exceeded our expectations as we are complete beginners, you really can make pens like in the photos above! Duncan is a kind and knowledgeable teacher who encourages creativity and clearly loves this craft. Would highly recommend.
