Mathew, our head potter has worked in ceramics and the arts for over 30 years, including manufacturing, teaching, education, management and lecturing. He is a naturally skilled teacher sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with great generosity, guiding potters in making their works of art. We are now above the lovely Kiln at Number 12 in Longton where you can also enjoy great coffee and cake.
"We had a wonderful day! Mathew is a very gifted and patient teacher. It was our first time using a wheel, we learnt a lot, laughed a lot and were amazed and delighted by what we managed to achieve. Thank you!"
Dimbleby Ceramics - Studio Pottery Courses responded:
"Thank you for the lovely review. I had a great day teaching both of you and lots of laughter throughout the day. The pots that you made are fantastic.
Best wishes
Mathew"
"A brilliant day, I highly recommend Dimbleby ceramics for anyone who wants to learn to throw. Mat is an excellent teacher, very patient and encouraging, with great knowledge and advice. "
"I’d never touched a potter's wheel before and was uncertain what to expect from the course. Matthew is a great teacher and with his encouragement I was able to make and decorate four differently shaped pots. The whole session was an amazing and thoroughly enjoyable experience (looking forward to collecting my work once it has been fired).

"Hi Carole,
It was a pleasure to have you on the course and see the progress that you made throughout the day. The forms you produced were lovely, even and balanced, they will look fantastic when they have been fired.
Best wishes
Mathew"
"We did this course as a family for my Wife's birthday.
Mat was a fabulous tutor and was able to coax quite amazing pieces of work from us all.
This was especially impressive as none of us had ever thrown a pot before.
All in all an absolutely brilliant day!"
