"I ordered this kit to build for my sister. I had a query about how quickly it would be dispatched- my query was answered very promptly and I received the kit within 2 days.
It was very straightforward to make- apart from the last instruction about attaching the battery pack. I just couldn’t understand this instruction at all, so I left it for my sister to sort out!
The finished star looks lovely in her garden."
Craftkits responded:
"Josie,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad that you liked the star once completed. I think I know the issue with the instructions, I have a kit for a much smaller version of this star and it has a wee wooden star that the battery pack hides behind, I think I sent those instructions by mistake. I'm so pleased that you still managed to put the star together though. My apologies for the error.
Thanks again and kind regards,
Lorna"
"The Willow arrived well packaged, and are of good quality. However, I found the video very frustrating as there was no commentary. It was like a silent movie, with pointing gestures to indicate where willow needed to go, and at times the tutor had her back to the camera obscuring the process. It would have been really useful to have had hints and tips during the weaving demonstration to help improve technique, and correct problems if they occurred. The plastic envelope for soaking the willow also leaked, but I was able to seal this. Perhaps soak the willow for a day or so longer to improve flexibility. I was pleased overall with the finished obelisk, and look forward to improving my technique with the remaining two."
Craftkits responded:
"Linda,
Thank you for purchasing the obelisk workshop. I'm sorry that you were disappointed with the course, I thought I would try a non speaking tutorial, with birdsong in the background, but I appreciate that this may not be helpful for learning the technique for weaving the obelisks.
I have removed the course from sale for now until I can work out how better to film the tutorials, as it did prove challenging, with such a large subject.
Thank you for your feedback and I hope that you enjoy making the remaining two obelisks.
Kind regards,
Lorna "
