"My daughter bought me a voucher for a full day workshop with Lyn in her studio. It was a surprise present and I was very excited as it is not a subject I know anything about and was a really unusual and thoughtful gift. I took up art when I retired, mainly acrylics and watercolour, and I also teach community art classes in Dorset. I have been on many workshops but never one like this. Lyn was extremely welcoming (had made cake!) and a caring person. I was fascinated by her artisan studio which is rammed with every conceivable colour of wax and lots of her work. She was extremely generous with materials and information and took me through the whole process step by step. It was a fascinating day and a fantastic present. I now appreciate how knowledgeable Lyn is on this subject - one of the top in the UK - and also how committed she is to educating people worldwide to understand and enjoy this process. I would totally recommend anyone to go on one of her workshops.”"

I had no previous experience of using hot wax. Lyn took me through the process, enabled me to experiment and understand the basic methods and the possibilities. "I enjoyed this course very much. Lyn was very friendly and knowledgeable, guiding me through the process with ease. My picture came to life within a matter of hours and using a plethora of techniques I didn't expect to use. I did worry that I would end up with something that looked like a sampling board rather than a real picture, but the finished result was actually pretty good, and I'm proud of it. I had some idea regarding what I wanted to do, and Lyn didn't try to stop me. We went beyond just using wax to make the image, as we enhanced it with alcohol ink, stencil work, mica powders, foils and pan pastels. Had I tried to do it alone, or used Youtube to guide me, it would have looked terrible. This was definitely the best way to get involved with encaustic wax. So, Lyn, thank you."
