"We had a very enjoyable 3 hours with Wendy and her team. She had prepared a fabulous session which was accessible to a range of experience, from complete novices to people who had years of experience. The course was well prepared and there was lots of advice and help on offer. There was even a blindfold round! Cake and tea were provided and a prize for the best work! Highly recommended."

Claynglaze responded:

"Lovely to meet you all, so glad you enjoyed the time you spent with us. See you again for glazing"

"Just attended a two-day tile making course which was packed with information. We learned multiple techniques to create raised relief tiles, finalising in hand carving originals and casting plaster moulds. Handmade tiles are incredibly expensive to buy (and technically aren’t hand made!) - now we can cast our own and tile everything in sight. As usual the lunch provided was a real treat, tea on tap and a pleasure to learn in such a welcoming and well-equipped studio. Highly recommended."

Claynglaze responded:

"So glad you enjoyed it! We aim to please. Your wonderful design on the tile you made will look amazing after glazing. The cost of the course is easily covered in the savings you made on tiles! Well done and look forward to seeing them on the wall Wendy"

"I had a wonderful afternoon being introduced to Raku by Wendy, John and Matt. Seeing the glowing pots emerge from the kiln and then set the sawdust alight is a magical and creative process, and you never know what you will finish up with! I can't wait to do more. I would highly recommend ClaynGlaze to anyone."

"Had a very splendid and happy time at Claynglaze in Pulborough on Saturday - making egg cups, toaster and cafetière. Sadly my toaster had to go in the bucket at the end of the afternoon as it had twisted due to my haste - but my egg cups seemed to hold an egg and the cafetière made it in the end. I had a wonderful afternoon with Wendy’s enthusiasm and encouragement as always and we all had a fun and absolutely splendid afternoon. Lucky us - we learnt a lot."

Claynglaze responded:

"Caroline you're so kind. So we'll need to practise making a toast rack. So glad you're cafitiere made it! Sorry about the bucket. Had to be!"

"This day was huge fun. Wendy is a quirky, fun person with oodles of skills. She makes everyone feel that they can produce something beautiful. Matt is a lovely shy person who comes out of his shell quickly and is extremely helpful and a superb potter. All in all I really enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed John’s famous Victoria Sponge. I came home splattered in clay and hopeful of what my pieces will look like once fired. Very well done Wendy and Matt x"

Claynglaze responded:

"Thankyou. Praise indeed. Your pieces are drying ,mugs have handles, one pot lost its bottom - glazing will bring them all to life, well done! Looking forward to seeing you again and well done for winning the toastrack prize!"

"What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. We all surprised ourselves by how well we did and how much fun throwing off the hump can be. Great tuition, lots of time to practise and help always at hand. I loved it. Tea and the best gluten free cake I’ve ever eaten at the end topped off a day in which we learned new skills, and created stuff we need to come back to glaze. Thanks Wendy & Matt."

"Wow what a find...what fun. No need going on the show, this pottery is the best. The course was fun, informative and superbly put together. When you put that in together with a stunning environment and huge room with every piece of equipment you would ever need..well i loved it. Can't wait to build my chess set next week."

Claynglaze responded:

"Oh so glad You managed to make everything. Fabulous mugs and cafitiere and a toast rack quite extraordinaire. You're throwing off the hump was clumsy so I'm keen to see how you manage miniature pots next saturday! But you could crack it with a good design for the chess set. Get thinking. Glad You enjoyed the cakes too!"

"Wendy introduced me to ceramics as I had never has the opportunity to make anything in clay previously. She created a two day course for myself and a colleague so we could teach 3D ceramics to KST 3 students. She taught us a variety of techniques and skills which have all been used in school. She taught me how to load and set up the kiln as well as going through different firing programmes. She is an inspiring teacher as she ensures you understand the different processes. Since my first course with Wendy I have further developed my own practise with her and made smoke fired orbs as well as a large bespoke utensil pot for my kitchen. The studio is a large space in the country with lovely views and very well equipped."

Claynglaze responded:

"Thankyou for such an in depth review. My desire is to see that ceramics in education continues despite knowing funding is poor, colleges close and short sighted educationaliats rank academic subjects above creative art ones. INSET training in ceramics empowers anyone to teach and fire pottery in school. I'm so proud of what you achieved and happy in the knowlege that because of it more children will experience clay and benefit from both the educational creativity and therapeutic value clay offers. Thanks Wendy."

"A friend recommended Claynglaze to me 18 months ago and I absolutely love it! I have met such lovely people and look forward to my weekly sessions. The courses are incredibly informative and over time I have learned new skills which I didn’t think I was capable of. Wendy guides us gently at our own pace and manages to bring out the best in everyone, producing some stunning results. The new studio is well equipped, spacious and the atmosphere happy and jovial. Wendy has many years experience and is happy to share her wealth of skill and knowledge with us students. I would thoroughly recommend Claynglaze to anyone!"

Claynglaze responded:

"Thankyou Hilary. So glad you are enjoying pottery. Is it really 18 months already how time flys!"

"What a find! I absolutely love going to Pottery. Wendy is always so helpful and inspirational. The studio is very very well equipped (I had been somewhere else which was so poorly equipped). Wendy is always hosting whole day courses as well as our regular weekly sessions. The Day courses are so well run. Breakfast on arrival, lunch, endless cups of tea and sometimes we even have fireworks and of course we learn how to create beautiful things. I especially loved the Raku Firing day. I’ve made lovely friends and look forward to many more years potting. Thank you Wendy"
