Maker's bio

I am a glass artist specialising in fused and flameworked glass and glass jewellery. I fell in love with glass and did my first flameworking class back in 2003. I have been based at Ocean Studios since it opened in 2015 and I love working in this supportive artistic community in this beautiful Grade 1 listed building. I have been fortunate to learn my craft through masterclasses with some of the world’s best glass artists including Narcissus Quagliata, Craig Mitchell Smith, Helen Gorrick, Anouk Jasperse, Bea Stoertz, Heather Trimlett, Sabine Frank, Claudia Trimbur-Pagel, Clare Hall, Bob Leatherbarrow and many others, along with many hours of hard work in my studio. I have worked in education for over 20 years and have been teaching glass at Ocean Studios since 2017. I am very pleased to be adding Arthouse, South Brent as a new teaching venue for me . I love teaching all ages from adults to children as young as 5. I think glass is a such stunning, versatile and unique medium that everyone should have a chance to try it. I really love seeing people’s joy (and often surprise) at their beautiful, unique glass creations.
