"What a fabulous day my mother in law & I had at Jackie's on her mosaic course. It was a full day with an amazing choice of tiles. Jackie's patience & eye for detail was wonderful & I was so pleased with my end result. I would highly recommend this course to anyone, whether you are artistic or not. In fact I am booking in for another session this Summer!"

Chris and Jack Walker reviewed: Wood turning tuition, New Forest, Hampshire (1 day) (2 people)

"Both Jack and I had an excellent morning with Graham Turner on 19/4/17 and we are more than happy to recommend the course. I think I can speak for Jack when I say that both of us doubted that we could produce a bowl of the standard Graham showed us at the start but with his excellent tuition we were both proved very wrong and the results sit proudly on display on our coffee table. Graham has an easy teaching style with great attention to detail which gives you the confidence to produce great results. We enjoyed it so much that we are now looking to book a further session in October. Thank you Graham."

Louise Jutsum reviewed: Bees for Development Sustainable Beekeeping Weekend Courses 2024

"I echo what Helen has said. I found it particularly useful to think of a colony of bees as having many of the characteristics of a small mammal. Some of the images used to illustrate the talks were particularly arresting eg that of a bee sting showing the long line of the bee's insides and the drone mating with the queen. I have never seen a Warre hive up close before and the swarm made a very clear choice in its favour. Top bar hives have long been a mystery to me and now I know how to make one. I also very much enjoyed the company of the other course participants and interesting discussions continued into the evenings."

Helen English reviewed: Bees for Development Sustainable Beekeeping Weekend Courses 2024

"I found the course very informative and helpful. It gave me the confidence to review the way in which we'd been keeping our bees at our Community Farm up till now and to develop the skills to make what we are doing truly sustainable. It was also interesting to be able to look inside a Top Bar hive and to learn about bees in all their manifestations. We were very lucky to witness a swarm on the Sunday afternoon right outside where we were meeting!"

Cal Craven Francis reviewed: Wood turning tuition, New Forest, Hampshire (1 day) (2 people)

"Last Saturday was spent at Graham's workshop and both Rob, my husband, and I had the most wonderful day. We not only made two delightful wooden bowls, but enjoyed the learning process immensely, using a lathe and various wood working tools. Graham is a very good and understanding teacher. We were treated to a delightful lunch in the garden, and enjoyed conversation with Graham and his wife Chris. Altogether a fantastic experience. I would thoroughly recommend a day there and hope to go again before too long."

Helen reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"I really enjoyed this 2-day course. Sebastian is a great instructor and the setting is lovely. I had no experience of stone sculpting or anything really artistic prior to the weekend, and I was amazed at what I and the other participants were able to create. After an initial overview we were given the tools and encouraged to try things out - first on some practice pieces and then we started work on our own sculptures, with Sebastian always available to answer questions or suggest next steps if we needed help. Overall a lovely relaxed weekend and I hope to be able to try some more sculpting at home now I know some of the basics."

A wonderful variety of threads and materials are provided and with Julie's can do attitude all fear is removed and everyone ends the day with a completed piece of work of which they are justifiably proud.....really looking forward to booking another course !!!"

Janine reviewed: 1 day introduction to silver jewellery making - Ely

"What a fantastic day! If you want to learn the processes in making a piece of Jewellery this is the course for you. Jonathan is a great teacher and I made a copper pendant and a silver ring in the one day. I have not made any jewllery before this course and I am quite proud of my achievements. He is a very hospitable host too - lunch, drinks and some lovely flapjack made by his wife ! Further information about tools and processes were emailed onto me for future reference too. I am hoping to be able to go onto an further day to learn how to mount stones - all I need now are some gems!"

Edith Pollock reviewed: Circular sock knitting machine 'Sock School'

"What a superb day! The tutor and her band of local helpers were so welcoming and the food was wonderful- home cooked biscuits, tea bread and quiches amidst the salad and baguette and fresh fruit. Such a treat! We had 4 break and tea and coffee out of China cups! This was by far the best out of the many courses I have attended. Besides these peripherals, the sock knitting machines were exquisite and working well. We had to concentrate hard under Anne's careful and expert tuition and her stalwart helper. We all produced fine socks and I love my purple and green ones. Of course, we all made some mistakes. How do you learn otherwise? But Anne and Sarah showed us how to overcome then. Would love to do it again next week!"

John Rutter reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"I arrived at Sebastian's rustic workshop convinced that I had no artistic ability whatsoever and left two days later with my own little "masterpiece" and a wonderful sense of accomplishment. Sebastian is wonderfully relaxed and as a result the course is too - there is no pressure, no rushing, everyone progressing at their own pace under the watchful eye of Sebastian who is ever ready to offer assistance and advice. I left on the Sunday evening not only with my own personal sculpture but with some very happy memories too, not only of the work and techniques but of Sebastian and the others on my course - we arrived as strangers and left as friends. I would heartily recommend this to anyone looking for a new challenge to fill up a spare weekend."

Andy Newton reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"A truly excellent weekend. I was given this course as a 70th birthday present, as my wife was aware I had been interested in stone carving in the past. I would not have believed I could produce so much in just 2 days - and seriously good value for money"

Kathryn Buxton reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"I spent a wonderful two days in a beautiful spot carving out a tree of life from Cotswold stone. I was amazed at what I could produce in such a short space of time and it was just the creative experience I'd been craving. Sebastian is a kind and gentle teacher, encouraging us to have a go and offering suggestions on what to do next. Can't recommend it highly enough! Ps my friends loved what I'd carved and now they want a sculpture for their gardens too... so I'm taking it up as a hobby now !"
