Stained glass weekly course - Wednesday afternoons at Dukeries Community Workshop, Ollerton

Weekly courses in glass crafts – suitable for all levels. Please note we have a high demand for this session at the moment. We will try to fit users in but may ask you to delay until we have space. The course is £10 per session every Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm. Entry to the workshop is £5, then £5 for use of solder, etc (payable on the day), and glass £10. £20 total. If you wish to continue then you can book directly with the tutor. The Dukeries Community Centre is a charitable organisation run by volunteers, established in 1988, offering the following regular weekly tutored sessions: - Monday 9 am - 2 pm wood carving. - Monday Evening 6-8.30 woodworking. - Tuesday 9 am - 3 pm general woodwork and own projects. - Wednesday 9.00 am - 12.30 pm woodworking projects. - Wednesday 1 pm - 3 pm art glass session – traditional stained glass, Tiffany style work & glass mosaics. - Thursday 9.30 am - 12.30 pm kiln glass work. - Thursday 1 pm - 3 pm silver jewellery. - Friday 9 am -12.30 pm walking stick making & carving. - Friday 1pm - 3 pm kiln glass works. Close to Mansfield, Retford, Worksop and Newark, we also welcome students from Lincoln, Nottingham and Sheffield. The workshops (and toilets) are fully accessible for people with disabilities. 1986- Unemployment was high. Members of the Adult Unemployed Centre expressed a desire to use workshop facilities. As school roles fell under used accommodation was identified. In April, a project submission was put before the Dukeries Complex Council of Management and a steering group was set up. Establishment of a fourteen-week pilot scheme to commence in July. This was successful. Today in 2023 we have over 150 users and are open 5 days a week and Monday/Tuesday Evenings
