Woodworking Taster Sessions! Would you like to have a go at woodworking? We're offering evening sessions on Mondays for you to have a go at your own woodworking project. These are informal sessions suitable for all with support from our experienced tutor. Please bring your own materials or a cutting list. The Dukeries Community Centre is a charitable organisation run by volunteers, established in 1988, offering the following regular weekly tutored sessions. Close to Mansfield, Retford, Worksop and Newark, we also welcome students from Lincoln, Nottingham and Sheffield. The workshops (and toilets) are fully accessible for people with disabilities. What's included in the price?

We provide an experienced tutor and all tools & equipment, although feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Materials can be supplied at cost or you can supply your own. Tea and coffee are provided.

1986- Unemployment was high. Members of the Adult Unemployed Centre expressed a desire to use workshop facilities. As school roles fell under used accommodation was identified. In April, a project submission was put before the Dukeries Complex Council of Management and a steering group was set up. Establishment of a fourteen-week pilot scheme to commence in July. This was successful. Today in 2023 we have over 150 users and are open 5 days a week and Monday/Tuesday Evenings
