Valentine's Day - green woodworking experience for couples
Description
This Valentine's Day, step into the warm glow of our woodland workshop for a truly unique couples’ experience! Spend a day with your beloved, designing and crafting a rustic stool using traditional greenwood techniques. Beneath the shelter of our rustic awning, surrounded by the scent of fresh timber and the crackle of an open fire, you’ll learn the time-honoured art of splitting, shaping and joining wood - the way generations before us did. Your stool will be made from two very symbolic timbers: - Cherry has long been associated with romance, beauty and the fleeting sweetness of life. In folklore it represents passion, renewal, and the blossoming of relationships. - Ash is revered as the “Tree of Life” in many Northern European cultures, symbolising resilience, harmony, and interwoven destinies. Known for its toughness and flexibility, it’s the perfect wood for the strong, dependable legs of your stool. You will learn: - How to split a log to form the seat. - How to work the ash legs by hand. - How to cut and fit traditional tenons. - How to assemble your stool with simple joinery. During the workshop, warm your hands around our open fire where we’ll be serving luxurious hot chocolate, perfect for sipping under the greenwood canopy as your stool comes to life. Leave with a beautiful keepsake, a shared accomplishment, and a renewed sense of connection! Wood supplied subject to availability and suitability. £150 is the price per couple.
