Traditional Mohair Bear – 2-Part Workshop for Beginners & Returners - Ilkley

X

Description

Friday 19th & Saturday 20th April, 2-day workshop. Our exclusive mohair bears are designed by tutor Jacqueline Schultz of Jacqueline’s Bears. You make them using authentic, Steiff Schulte mohair in two hands-on workshop sessions that take place on consecutive Wednesdays in York. This is a mixed ability class - please choose your bear when booking. Each bear has a unique personality, moveable cotter joints and British made glass eyes. Beginner’s use our Milo kit, creating a bear that is 23cm high when standing, 17cm when sitting. Returners make Roxy, who is the same size but with a different coat that is more complicated to work with. And those returning for a third time get to choose from a selection of patterns and fabrics to make an entirely unique bear for their collection. During these two full day classes, as well as learning teddy-making skills, Jacqueline will tell you the fascinating heritage of mohair bears. You don’t need any previous bear-making experience but we do recommend you have basic sewing skills. Classes are individually priced & include the tools to use in class and all materials, unless otherwise indicated. Each participant also receives a 10% off voucher to spend online.
