About the Course
This unique style of cloth doll is formed using cotton knit fabric and other natural materials such as sheepswool to create a shaped head which can be as minimalistic as the creator wishes.
Waldorf dolls are designed to be played with and cuddled, and their simple charm appeals to children and adults of all ages.
In this 2-day optional residential workshop we are going to construct a Waldorf-style baby doll, complete with optional magnetic dummy, that is sure to be a hit with any young child. By learning the basic construction techniques (and variations on design) students will be encouraged to continue making and designing their own versions of these highly collectable dolls. The dolls are sewn by machine so this workshop is suitable for those with some sewing machine experience.
Participants will receive full size doll patterns to take home and if time allows, to construct simple clothing for the dolls.
The class is limited to 6 participants.
Accommodation is on-site and offers a choice of king-size or twin-bedded room at specially reduced rates. Participants may bring their partners who may wish to persue their own activities whilst the workshops take place. Please request accommodation brochure.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
