Description

This scything course will cover set-up, mowing technique and maintenance of the Austrian scythe. Suitable for beginners and improvers. We will give you a range of blades to try and will provide technical knowledge to allow you to scythe a variety of vegetation types easily and effectively.

Danny has been working in the conservation sector for 15 years. He has a BSc in Countryside Conservation, was awarded a hedgelaying competency certificate from Hedgecraft Training and has passed his Mountain Leader Award with Mountain Training. He is fully qualified in Outdoor First Aid (level 3). He also has a bushcraft competency certificate from the Institute of Outdoor Learning. He has been teaching bushcraft and rural skills using hand tools for over 12 years. His Instagram is #indigenous_journey. He also has Lantra awards in Tractor driving, Dry Stone Walling (level 2) and NPTC awards in tree felling and Brushwood chipper operations.

There are toilets a short walk away from the course site. The walk to the toilets is steep and unpaved.
