We currently have the Monday sessions 9am to 4pm and our very popular Tuesday Evening session with Ann and Roy, 6 pm to 8 pm. Join us to work on a wood carving project of your choice, with tools, machinery and guidance provided in our extensive workshops. This wood carving course runs every Monday with Bill and Peter and also Tuesday evening with Roy and Ann Haynes. The Dukeries Community Centre is a charitable organisation run by volunteers, established in 1988, offering the following regular weekly tutored sessions. Monday 9 am - 2 pm Wood Carving Tuesday 9 am - 3 pm General woodwork and own projects Tuesday EVENING 6 pm - 8 pm Wood Carving & Pyrography Wednesday 9.30 am - 12.30 pm Reserved MIND session Wednesday 1 pm - 3 pm Art Glass session – traditional stained glass, Tiffany style work & glass mosaics Thursday 9.30 am - 12.30 pm Kiln glass work Thursday 1 pm - 3 pm Woodwork projects Friday 9 am -12.30 pm Walking stick making & carving Friday 1pm - 3 pm Kiln glass work Close to Mansfield, Retford, Worksop and Newark, we also welcome students from Lincoln, Nottingham and Sheffield. The workshops (and toilets) are fully accessible for people with disabilities.

What's included in the price?

We can supply you with tools to start you off on this exciting activity or you can bring your own along. Materials can be purchased at cost from our store or you can bring your own along. Tea and coffee, lively chats and good company guaranteed. Please bring your own lunch or, alternatively, there are cafés and shops in the village.

1986- Unemployment was high. Members of the Adult Unemployed Centre expressed a desire to use workshop facilities. As school roles fell under used accommodation was identified. In April, a project submission was put before the Dukeries Complex Council of Management and a steering group was set up. Establishment of a fourteen-week pilot scheme to commence in July. This was successful. Today in 2020 we have over 150 users and are open 5 days a week and Tuesday Evenings
