About the Course

Join us each Monday to work on a wood carving project of your choice, with tools, machinery and guidance provided in our extensive workshops. This wood carving course runs every Monday during term time with Peter, from 9am - 3pm and now an evening class with Roy Haynes Tuesdays 7-9pm.

The Dukeries Community Centre is a charitable organisation run by volunteers, established in 1988, offering the following regular weekly tutored sessions.
Monday 9am-2pm Woodcarving
Tuesday 9am-3pm general woodwork and own projects
Tuesday EVENING 7pm - 9pm Wood Carving
Tuesday EVENING 7pm - 9pm Pyrography
Wednesday 10am-12.30pm reserved school session
Wednesday 1-3pm art glass session – traditional stained glass, Tiffany style work & glass mosaics
Thursday 9am-3pm general woodwork on own projects
Friday 9am-12.30pm walking stick making & carving
Friday 1-3pm kiln glass work
Close to Mansfield, Retford, Worksop and Newark, we also welcome students from Lincoln, Nottingham and Sheffield.
The workshops (and toilets) are fully accessible for people with disabilities.

We can supply you with tools to start you off on this exciting activity or you can bring your own along. Materials can be purchased at cost from our store or you can bring your own along.

Tea and coffee, lively chats and good company guaranteed. Please bring your own lunch or, alternatively, there are cafés and shops in the village.
