Punch needle embroidery

" Lucy "

If you love colour and texture then Punch Needle embroidery is for you!
Come on a workshop and learn this lovely craft based on the idea of hooked rug making.

You will make the colourful abstract face I call "Lucy" which when finished is ready to hang or display on a wooden frame.

Threading a pen like tool and working on a stretched piece of fabric over a frame you will learn how to use the needle to create different textures and patterns. The thread/yarn is pushed through the fabric by the long needle and a loop created at the back before pulling the needle back up, the loop stays and a "punch " is created.

With some practice you can produce wall hangings, cushion covers and bags!

So come and spend some time learning this relaxing tactile craft.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

Included in the price are your adjustable punch needle, monks cloth and frame and all thread used for your sample

refreshments included too

Very interesting class located in a lovely boutique and garden centre. Vicky is a very fun teacher, sharing the skills of punch needle. The course includes the material (with extra) and tools, cake and drink. You can actually complete a project after this, which is quite an achievement. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it!

Response from Julie Hicks Textiles:

Hi Yaran, Thank for the lovely review it's much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it .

What a lovely morning. Julie is a brilliant teacher and Bonds was such a good venue. I had tried to teach myself Punch Needle using a kit but it makes a big a difference having someone show you the techniques. There were five of us on the course and it was just like a chatty morning crafting with a group of friends. I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn this craft.

Response from Julie Hicks Textiles:

Hi Sue, Thank you for the lovely review ! I do appreciate it. Many thanks and see you on the next one !

I really enjoyed my time on this workshop and was pleasantly surprised at how relaxed I was working on my piece while chatting to everyone. The location was great and easy to find, and Julie was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back for another workshop in future.
