Description

Pot making and Glaze workshops! The course will cover different handbuilding techniques every week, from slab building to hand moulding and carving textures. We will also learn about the raw materials in glaze recipes and how to apply glazes and experiment with the glaze materials. As with all my workshops I encourage students to go their own way, with full technical support provided to everyone in the sessions. Every week there will be a new technique taught and pieces to glaze from the previous week. If you have been to my course before, it won't be the same, you will add to the skills you learned. We will use decorating oxides and tools for textures and discover some of the exciting chemistry in buckets of glaze. All levels welcome. Helen has 20+ years of experience working with clay and glaze. She has been commissioned by Aberdeen Standard Life, featured on this years The Great Pottery Throwdown and been in numerous media and publications. You will finish the workshop with your own individual piece with all the technical guidance you need for the session.

What's included in the price?

Every week you will make a piece or set of pieces using any tools and materials you like in my ceramics and glaze kit. I will take your pieces away at the end of the session to bisque and glaze fire for you. All materials and equipment provided.
